Been wanting to update our keys sounds for awhile. Got two of these rigs implimented already and my keys players are loving it! Thanks for sharing this with us! As a side note, we landed on the M-Audio Hammer 88 Pro as a controller and have been loving it so far. It has all the buttons and knobs you could want that you can then map onto Sunday Keys without the need for an extra controller. Our players found it hard to just use an iPad even though we purchased the bigger ipad pros.

Hey David and Jake . Tremendous video. Hope to see you both at worship innovators conference next month ! Been customizing Mainstage nanokontrol version for a year now and enjoyed being a beta tester for the app. My worship pastor bought it for our Nord and will be planning to set up songs and help train our other beginner/intermediate keyboardists who are only used to playing a piano. Very thorough video. You guys covered it all here. I’m interested if you might ever make a 5th or 6th layer available. Also tonic seems softer than some of the pads , was going to suggest to raise it up about +3db gain overall to match the patches. See you soon ! God bless ! Way to go in creating this. It is Awesome !

So many great features and so much to explore. Great job on the video. I love the access to effects etc. But I started using MainStage and went back to a hardware keyboard for these reasons: 1 we use Multitracks so most of the song-specific sounds are already in there. Yes it makes sense to layer up piano/pad/strings because you can plan them together. You can’t really play the piano part plus a cool organ or guitar part because, put simply, your fingers would be playing different notes at the same time. So all the layering in the world doesn't work then. Let the track or other players cover the other parts. There is a reason that almost all the examples in the video are piano plus pads or strings. Thats what we do most of the time. 2 Any road-warrior will tell you that if you are using a computer or ipad based system you must have a hardware backup for those times when the system hangs up. It will happen. Dont say you weren't lovingly advised, and it is very awkward when it happens haha. Oops no piano. The video references “points of failure”. The fewer pieces in your chain, the fewer points of failure. There is nothing wrong with keeping it simple. It doesnt mean that you are simple, just your rig. And your emotional life. 3 Hardware faders on stage beat a touchscreen every time because you can rest your finger on a fader and feed it in with precision. So you might as well start with one. 4 You can program a hardware keyboard really easily if you read the manual. You aren't stuck with the factory sounds. By the way those sounds were programmed by the best and most experienced in the business. . And usually there will be hundreds of addresses where users can store and recall their creations. Yamaha,Roland, Korg, Privia etc all make great sounding keyboards that have lots of layers (any more than 4 layers is usually mud anyway). It doesn't have to be the $4000 red one, which by the way doesn't do layers nearly as elegantly as you might hope. 5 The presenter mentioned a 5 second recall. In a church service, 5 seconds is an embarrassing eternity. Five seconds is as a thousand years to your pastor. All I’m saying is this- Mainstage sounds great and if it works for you, use it. But dont feel like a failure if you prefer your hardware keys. They work great too. Remember the old saying- tone is in the fingers.

Hey Russell, glad you enjoyed the video. There's definitely lots to consider with one's approach to the keys rig and user preference is paramount. At the end of the day use the tools that feel most inspiring to you/empowering to your worship team :) We did want to clarify a misunderstanding, point 5 from your comment: Patches are immediately playable when recalled. The five seconds that was mentioned in the video is in reference to how long the previously selected Patch will continue to sustain, if you want it to, so that those transitions are alway seamless :)

Interesting App.. Thanks for the demo. Any plans on the roadmap to make it dante enabled so we can output each channel to the dante network? the reason i ask is that having the keyboard player mix/balance layers in their IEM's may not translate into the room/FOH or broadcast mix....we (FOH/Broadcast) need to have the flexibility to make adjustments (EQ, level, pan......etc) if needed.

We're in the planning stages now for a major renovation of our church, moving from an extremely traditional presentation to contemporary praise and worship, and we're definietly going to utilize the SK app in our keys rig. We're planning to use a Dante network as we build this out, so I'm wondering how the SK iPad would interface with Dante. Any advice? Thanks for all the amazing resources and education. Hey Douglas, we can chime in here- Audinate hasn’t added Dante support for iOS in a general sense yet. You can use the Avio adaptor from them to get a single stereo pair out that will interface w/ your Dante network if you’d like, but no more than that is possible on iOS in general. Hopefully Audinate will bring Dante to iOS in the future! If and when they do, we’ll provide info on how it can be used w/ the SK App.

Is the iPad app different than the Sunday keys app? I bought the Sunday keys app over a year ago but its on my MacBook pro. Can I use the same app and transfer it to the iPad? If so, how? Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys, really nice tool and one that might save us the cost of buying a new keyboard. We have a Roland x8 Fantom workstation and it has an issue with suddenly going out of key. We've tried to fix it but no luck. My question is if we use this rig with the Sunday Keys, can we bypass this issue since the sounds dont come from the keyboard anymore? If this works we can decide not to spend £2k plus on new hardware and just get the Sunday Keys and an ipad

Hi there, without knowing the exact specifics of why your Fantom is losing pitch, can't say for sure, but as long as the keyboard is still sending reliable Midi Note data then it should be good to go with the App. You'll need a Midi to USB adaptor cable or a Midi cable plugged into an interface.

@@SundaySounds thanks for your response. We'll probably get Sunday Keys anyway as I believe it'll transform the way we worship. Thanks

Check if the pitch bend is broken. I had the same issue with a Yamaha mo6 Quick fix is just bypass the pitch bend in editor mode.

Is there a way to use an interface that has more than two outs? That way, if you add some kind of key bass, you could run it out of a separate output

The App only supports a single stereo output for now, but we plan to add support for multiple outputs in the future! No set timeline for that just yet.

Download the app AUM , which will allow you to use a separate (multiple)channel.

@@SundaySounds Thanks for this awesome piece of software! Is there also a plan or a way how to deal with click? Two things come to my mind: Providing click to the other band members (which would require an addtional output channel) and syncing the click to an backing track from Ableton. Would love to hear your thoughts!

@@johannesjeising6772 For now the App doesn't feature a built in click, but you can set the BPM per Patch to ensure your time based effects are in-synch with your band. We do plan to add a metronome and multi-out support in the future, no set timeline for that yet :)
