Finding the perfect HoYD is probably the hardest thing in FM. There are only very few people, who have good attributes AND play a similar tactic/pressing/etc that I prefer. Also, I am never really sure, whether the "working with youth" and "judging ability/potential" attributes are more important than the coaching attributes. After all, the HoYD also acts as a coach.

I agree! But stats wise, working with youth is by far the most important, connected to the perspnality and tactic. If you're full of gold players with a balanced or indifferent personality, they're useless in your squad. I much prefer fairly promising kids with ambitious, determined or focused personalities with good mental stats. Specially when your squad lacks good leadership

The attributes are important for HoYD. I learned that the hard way, used an average one with great personality. Lead to a decade of bad intakes with a team that's consistently getting better. It was a youth academy challenge. Once I got a the best available one, my youth intake got significantly better.

Turns out the ONLY thing that matters from your HOYD is their personality. This is according to the EBFM testing.

I never got offers to loan my players. Now I have set my active leagues from View Only to Playable and hope this will make a difference! Thanks for the tip!

France is great for it as you need to sell them to keep producing other leagues you can make too much money that it becomes a bit mute. In 2042 and just moved to mid table OL have won pl, serie a, bundes, Spain so France was next on my list page ha e won it every year so going to try break their dominance

On average now after 6 seasons I’ve added 8 wonder kids to my team 5 came from the academy 3 were transfers. We just had 2 more come this batch.

To keep it simple. Maximize Youth Facilities Youth Recruitment Junior coaching Reputation If you are managing in a country with poor nation youth rating, like I am in Wales, get a bunch of affiliate clubs from nations with better ratings, like a Spanish second tier club for example

Scouting in this game is in general quite a mess. I set up a scouting focus, just to test things with: look for any positions/roles, in the bundesliga (playing in germany), current ability 2 stars (im managing augsburg so 2 stars is really low), potential ability 2,5 stars, ongoing search with a scout that is german and absolute familiar with germany. And i got 2-3 results. So i really dont know what these guys are doing all day. A lot of times when i look at my fokusses i see 0 recomendations, 0 (the other one^^), 0 work in progress. So what am i paying u for if u dont even work u damn scout :D

drop the current ability stars down to 2.5 silver stars and not gold, like Dalgit was telling you.

I don't know how much better assessment is at higher levels, but in my lower league saves I give players a lot of time, because my staff keeps changing their mind all the time. One season they're 3 stars, not even half a season later they're 5. Next season they're surplus to requirement, the player plays a few matches and is again the team's star player.

hi great video i play on console , i usually play 2 setups one from vanarema south where dont worry development , and as i have supported liverpool since i was 5 now 58 we can only load max 10 leagues with 50,000 players what 10 leagueswould you recommend obv portugal is always a definite for me playing as liverpool alo console starts at 1 gold star for searching

I don't know if this only happens to me, but I have a feeling that changing the HoYD to a better one (attributes, personality, tactics, etc.) brings worse results than the previous one. I thought that perhaps I'll start to reap its awards later on, so I waited for a few more years, but it seems like it also doesn't produce any good players in the long term. Is HoYD really important to youth production?

there is no algorythm its based on what your intrested in let me guess yiuve been watching football manager videos , as a creator we have to aim for what a potential viewer wants so i know i know offering footnall manager videos to someone intrested in football manager its witchcraft

Do you use screenflow at all. I find a lot of very good players thru it, even when I don't have a ton of scouts.

I was wondering the same thing! I was thinking...dude April Fools day..is in April. My rig is above average (5800x/32Gb/3080ti) and shows like 1 1/2 or 2 stars performance with that many players loaded and a handful of countries loaded. I would love for him to do a video that shows exactly how he sets up his game when he starts a new save!

How do you see the players CA and PA? Is it a skin or just the editor? I use FM Genie Scout but a pain to keep tabbing between the two.

Starts only tell how good the player is in comparison to the rest of the squad.

do the leagues actually have to be set as playable? i thought it's okay if they're set to watchable as well

Playable equates to better development. Adding a view only league midway through a season will see the first batch from that league being fantastic because of game balancing but that is a bug. View only development is not as effective which is why some people see poor development in the long run.
