That suggestion about having different necklines in your tops is honestly such a great tip. I feel like when people think of a capsule wardrobe, they think of someone wearing the same exact crew neck tee but purchased 3x in different colors, and then all the outfits just end up accidentally looking the same. On the other hand, you could have 3 white tees but if one's a crew neck, one's a sweetheart neckline, and one's a mockneck/turtleneck, they're all going to have very different vibes and bring something unique to the table.

Wow, this went by way too fast. There are so many gorgeous capsules here. And you make them fun! I’m so tired of capsules that are just the same shirt in beige, white and black along with the same jeans in different colours. I’m old so first learned of building a wardrobe by choosing a patterned dress or blouse and skirt, then choosing the other pieces from the colours in the pattern. During the lockdowns I strayed from a capsule I was happy with and am now stuck with a bunch of stuff from online boredom shopping 😜. You’ve inspired me to try to get back on track.

All of these outfits look stunning. My only problem with a capsule wardrobe is that I feel like they are missing a lot of relevant clothes or they aren’t counting them in their piece count like pajamas, loungewear, underwear, bathing suits, winter wear like ski clothing, workout clothing, special event like a wedding, diy clothing (crap clothes for messy things like painting) etc. they are specific events but ones you wouldn’t want to wear nice clothes for. So in the end I don’t think you can ever limit yourself to this small of a collection because it’s missing all these other occasions you need to account for

Hi! Yes, if the black + warmer neutrals are not meshing well with your skin tone, I would try the cool colors like navy, denim, shades of blue and gray with cooler toned off-whites and taupes for your lighter options. Hope that helps!!

My problem are locations that require 2 outfits + per day. Like, disneyworld! It’s hot. You’re sweaty. You likely won’t repeat the outfit especially the top. I feel like trips like that don’t work with capsules because you still need double the amount… like hikes, swim days, beach days that get all sandy, theme parks, etc
