As someone who is about to get into this hobby, thank you for this , it has helped with understanding the work flow to follow and also the tools and techniques you used. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
for non japanese people, just can snap a picture of the word and you can google translate. I might not be correct but you'll get the idea.
*I:* interested in model making, I want to try to assemble my first model, but I don't know all the details and where to start. *JH-Hobby:* Here's a video for you that tells you everything. 💜

Do it, they're so much fun. Just don't worry about mistakes, you'll learn as you go and not make them on future models. Start with ones you don't care about messing up, just to learn. Remember, it's just plastic & it's all for fun and you won't get discouraged. That's the main thing I've learned after starting model cars.

@@hhaste I prefer motorcycles, but I think it's better to start with something simpler, some kind of minivan with few parts =) I often read that planes or tanks are good for beginners, but that's not my thing.

Great work....1 thing as a new builder I do not recommend cutting all parts off the tree Inless u no what and were every part gos I like to hand paint smaller parts on tje tree then touch the spots up many different ways to build a model most important is have fun doing it

Absolutely stunning build! And for those of you new to the hobby, yes you can create builds of this quality. It just takes a little time and practice. Don't get discouraged if your first build doesn't come out looking like this. Just keep building, and you'll get to this point!

Been watching your channel since the early days. Every build is of the same phenomenal standard and that might be the only reason I haven’t gotten back into making models. Built military aircraft fanatically as a kid and teen in the 80’s and early 90’s then it was all Warhammer 40k. Been over a decade not building anything. Not being able to find my current real world car in a 1:18 model kit would be the other factor 😂
Awesome job on the kit and the video!
Thank you for this guide. I've been watching many builds for some time and this video is going to help me finally build my own first model

Love your video. I actually watched a few weeks ago a similar one from you that you posted three years ago ! I have to say your explanation was so clear on the painting, clear coat and polishing that I incorporated pretty much everything you said into my car build. I have only built 3 cars before being mainly a armor and plane builder and they were not great. It was a instant improvement. So I have to say thanks to you and your video. You have a new fan! 🙏

@@JHHobby One thing that is interesting is our perception. If you had said spray a light first coat to me and not shown me the video, I would have done something very different than what you did. My light coat would have been two passes and not even pressing the nozzles that hard I think. So you video was very important as to what you meant by light coat! Same goes for the second and third.👍 coat.
Great build
IS AMAZING
Great video, but personally as a beginner I would not recommend removing the parts from the sprue until needed as sometimes, bad instructions for example, it can make it difficult to ensure you have the correct part. Yes I can fully understand that sometimes you need to especially if it needs painting before assembly. Maybe take good high quality pictures of the sprues before cutting the parts off to use as a reference, or cutting parts off a sprue and placeing in individual boxes. Be very careful when scribing as some models are very thin and easy to cut right through. When adding bumpers and such to a car body for painting, I use masking tape to hold them in place as I have had models that I cannot get the body on after glueing them in place. Other than that top notch, still far better than I can do, but I just enjoy the relaxation of the build process and a finished project is a bonus.
Very nice build, top job 👍 very well explained.

Great video, I've been doing builds for a few years and still took away some neat tips. What chrome paint are you using for the headlights and taillights? It looks great - I've used Molotow Liquid Chrome and while it comes out nicely the tips always seem to go dry making it hard to apply.
Incredible, as always. I've owned an 06 STi for 15 almost 16 years, now and just got this same model recently, after months of searching.. Hard to find one. Can't wait to put it together.

@@JHHobby Just finished the base coat. May I ask what method you used to paint the black trim inside the front bumper? Mask and sprayed or perhaps brush painted by hand? I'm scared to mess that up, haha. Thanks in advance, if you see this!
Some people seem to add the water adhesive before the polishing process to make the adhesive look like it’s ingrained with the car. How is this achieved?

Hobbylinc has them in, finally.. I got mine from Hong Kong after waiting for months for Hobbylinc to get them, then within the same week they get them in lmao.
you know you are a skilled modeler when you put the window masks straight on the first try :P well done buddy! great work as always! i know its a personal preference but i also don't cut all parts from their trees.some models are more complex than others and i don't want to lose something, also trees help you hold the parts for painting. i usually leave the parts on their trees hanging from one spot that won't be visible after the attachment on the model. also, how do you manage not to leave a single fingerprint on the polished body and clear parts :P For this, use a lot of rubber gloves guys!! Again great job! your buddy with the grey gc8 from Greece. Cheers!
I noticed you used Mr Surfacer Primer which is light gray, and painted the body white over it. Was the white not affected? I am painting a light yellow gloss body, but concerned the light grey primer will affect it.
hi. thanks for the video. What is the sponge grit in that case?
Great video!! What brand of panel line scribber did you use?
Hi can I know what type of glue to use of we don't have plastic cement?
Just a request, could you increase your lighting? IDK if you have a filter on or if your work area is just dimly lit but when you work on dark materials like the undercarriage or the interior it's difficult to see what you're doing, a lot of the detail gets lost.
The decals should go on before you put varnish on. You should also cut down the decals even further to prevent silvering.
@JHHobby
6 ай бұрын
Yes actually that is the better way to do it but i forgot to put the decal on and i go with the clearcoat straight🫠
What a nice video. What tape do you use?
Do you have a suggestion? I am trying to highlight the name of a car that is molded in a script font in chrome. I have tried a toothpick, dry brushing, and laying down BMF before paint but nothing really works.
great video, helps a lot. you use primer only on the body part? Why not on the chassis and the rest of the parts, is it waste of time?
@JHHobby
6 ай бұрын
Hey, for me i doesn't feel like we need to primer every parts as long as you sand the parts before paint and it wont peel or lift off during masking..most of the time i use primer is for covering heavy sanding marks and have a good coverage for colour paint later on😁
I wanted to ask you if you could please tell me the right sequence you use for painting, decal and transparent primer color decal transparent sand paper compound or do you use the transparent even after giving the color? thanks from Italy...simone

i have a question if the spoiler doesnt have a base like the subie how do i secure it for painting?

This one will be tough, if there is leg on the spoiler you can try to use a small crocodile clip to hold it. If it's whole piece flat then you have to find somewhere not obvious to stick it and spray.
