Ha yea certainly, especially when you can't afford to pay people to do all this

Looks awesome. You should have run some landscape lighting wire there for some lights in those rocks. Would look awesome at night.

That looks beautiful and you explained in a very beautiful manner and way, what is the total cost for you to do this project

Thanks man. I already had the pavers so it was pretty cheap. I'm not sure exactly how much. Probably around $300.

Looks great.. Did you had any drainage issue afterwards or it all worked well? From the wall side how does water drain if there is pavers in middle?

Thanks! No draining issues at all so far. I actually have another video on Grading which I did previously. Basically I made sure the ground was sloping away from the base of my house. Also above this I have a deck and above the deck is a roof so I don't get too much water directly under the house.

I find the setup nice but I wonder if the rocks nearby the foundation might facilitate water to go down the wrong side. Plus you have the pathway that might act as a barrier for water to naturally flow away from the house.... Maybe I overthink it, but it sure looks good!

I actually have a deck above it so there's not much rain water that comes through so I don't have to worry about that. I think as long as the grade is away from the house water will not build up at the foundation. I have another video I did regarding grading of you are interested

I have the same concern. But SuitTV kind of answered the question. Without the deck above it, water may stay at the foundation.

I have a question if I'm pulling down a paper sidewalk and I use gravel and sand when I set the grade or the slope do I set it with the gravel or the sand or both

Ideally both but it's most important for the top layer to be graded the way you want.

How. much did this project cost ?

I already had the pavers so that would of been the most expensive part. The paver base panels where like $13 each which was a bit much and I used about 10 of those. So probably about $200 overall. Pretty inexpensive! You might be able to find people looking to sell or get rid of pavers on Craigslist or facebook marketplace for cheap.

The Brock Paverbase website is specific that play sand NOT be used. Search under sand on the site. It differentiates between the sand that should be used under the base (NOT playsand) and what sand should be used between the pavers.

Lol there's different kinds of sand? Not sure how that makes a difference. It's held up fine so far.

I agree, main difference between the sands are porosity value (i.e. the amount of water it lets drain through) the sand that should be used is sharp sand (not sure if it's called that in the US) but it's very coarse and because of this it allows water to drain through it and into the ground. Building sands, plastering or rendering sand and play sand if very fine and holds the water on the surface for much much longer periods of time before it soaks through so in the winter it was freeze over and pop up your pavers, hopefully it won't happen in the future but never use play sand, builders sand or rendering and plastering sand as water pools up and takes ages to soak through. Hope this explanation helps, you did s great job by the way
