OTR trucking is riskier because of the low reliability of drivers. That road is rough. I have 6 trucks running containers out the ports and my drivers run local/regional and home every day. Better driver retention.

Shout out to container drivers, I did containers out of Philly port to Canada and turn around...good money..the winter was rough going into Canada. Containers are no joke..twic card and passport card required..

And that keep them trucks from idling 3 pure weeks causing truck to regen twice a week or derate due to high levels of soot building up due to drivers needing constantly needing air while not in motion!! Home daily or home weekly and daily is better to give trucks a break from running 24/7 ! Only time most trucks are cut off is only for a 34 hour reset

Box trucks can make money more than 18 wheelers, you just need to know what to do with it..i ran OTR in a box truck for 2 years and i always made 3000 a week, sometimes 5000 a week, sometimes 7000 carrying 2 loads in one run..now i only run 8 box trucks local. If you are interested in trucking get a box truck, run otr, learn learn learn learn and research till you manage to find direct shippers locally..YOU CAN MAKE SERIOUS MONEY.. 18 wheelers are headache, CDL, DOT on ur azz 24/7..and if it breaks down u are looking at up to 20.000 to fix it.. Dont think twice, DO IT

14 Trucks currently. YES we are a minority in the OWNERS SIDE of the industry. Most all black folks know one person in their family that drives trucks, a cousin, a uncle, a someone. But few folks know drivers. Its a great you did this interview with alex will see you all in ATLANTA weekend.

I watch EYL to gain knowledge on business not knowing you had an content about trucking business man thank you so much i learned a lot! Video is 2 years ago but perfect time for me.

I definitely put all my homeboys interested in trucking on this channel. Great info!!

Again I would like to say I love love love what you guys are doing. And I love the part where he talks about sacrifice. I literally cried when he started talking about it. I quit watching TV and drinking for a year to open my 1st business and that was the easiest sacrifice. And my favorite NFL team made it to the Super Bowl. I loved drinking and football. Now I can go to any game I want anywhere. I love the show and it’s long overdue.

I can see how the information and insight given here can be applied to many types of pursuits, not just trucking. No matter what you set off to do, you will find a sharp learning curve and possibly even have to stop and start all over again once you have sought a more complete understanding of what you are doing. Personally, I can make a lot more sense of why my father always kept trucks around. He was not physically able to drive much himself after Vietnam but he knew about a whole world out there where he could make a living. This podcast is definitely going on my subscribed list. I appreciate the theme and the insight that this guest has shared. I commend you all for this effort and I pray all blessings and safety for those both here and those on the road racking up them miles. I also want to say that a person can gain as much knowledge and direction from just one of these podcasts as can be found in a whole year of over-priced college education. Not knocking my time in the classroom, just giving props to the men and women who don't just talk it but also walk it. Thank you all for this KZread experience.
