What was the pitch for the roof if you don’t mind me asking?

  • @PaulLadendorf

Seems like its way overbuilt but some people like to do that. I would just use 8 - 4x4's, 2x? girts all the way around the top (no bracing on the posts) and instead of sheeting and shingles, I would use 2x2 purlins across the rafters and metal roofing. Girts and rafters sized for snow load. Way cheaper and still solid.

I don’t think it’s way over built at all. I appreciate the half lap joinery, and the birds mouth cuts for the rafters. The sheathing on top will be a nice solid substrate for the finished roof. And the angle braces will keep it nice and plumb

Nice video content! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard the talk about - Canackenzie Astounded Cure (do a search on google)? It is a great one of a kind guide for building better sheds and master woodworking minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my old buddy Taylor after a lifetime of fighting got amazing results with it.

nice simple _design_, but post&beam of any size leads to needing some pretty pricey (and sometimes hard-to-get) lumber. 24' 6x6... well over $100

  • @howtospecialist

You can join beams together to make larger ones, if you don't have access to 24' long ones.
