QUESTION to all you scale modelers out there. I'm really liking that the 200kg turns out to be the correct weight for it's scale and would be just about 100 tonnes tonnes, which is what, a deviation of like 10% but if the bucket isn't included in the weigh specs it is even closer. I'm sure most of the extra weight are due to the batteries, which makes this build even more impressing when you can identify the batteries impact on a huge model like this. I guess the builder really took the gauge of the metal into serious consideration and planning it to be in 1/8 scale as well. But my question is, what about the mechanics, is it possible to scale the torque and what about hydraulics? And if this is possible, has he done it to scale as well? I'm super curious about these questions so hopefully anyone here could let me know. Is there perhaps another high quality scale model building series you can recommend? Thank you all! Edit: I forgot one question I got from watching the latest model, dumper with rubber wheels. Is there a way if you want the softness/hardness of the wheel to match the compression force IRL? In other words, is it possible to scale down the pressure and how is it done. Is it by choosing rubber material that closely match the real world, or can you do it by altering the air pressure inside the tire? How do one scale down PSI? is it just like when scaling down the weight? Where do one get wheels like this? Is it printable?

Thank you for your comment. So in principal you can all scale down. Length ÷8, plane ÷8÷8, and volume ÷8÷8÷8. The hydraulic pressure ÷8. But the real World is mostly to hard for the models, so it is better to use more weight and more hydraulic pressure like the real one. But that is all experience from building models over years.

@@rcheavyconstructionzone This is such a great hobby to have to be able to build these projects. I have only ever built a Tamyia volvo truck scale 1/14 plastic which really disapointed me because if how low quality and things like torque were. But having the tools to be able to build completely custom projects like this look like the perfect way to do it. Have you benchmarked your model comparing it to how strong the original is, for example lifting you might be equal to around 40 tonnes give or take. Can the real machine do this as well, or maybe these things aren't interesting to you?

Yes that is very interessting for me. So my RC Cat can lift up more as the real one. 40to of the real is round about 78kg for the 1/8th model. I can lift more than 100kg. That is because of the higher oiö pressure I have. It runs with round about 65bar. And 65 x 8 is 520bar, the real one has only 360bar. But you need more power in the model because the digging ground is 1:1.

@@rcheavyconstructionzone yeah I understand, didn't take the 1:1 of the ground. 520 sound like a crazy high pressure, but I'm basing that from my only experience which is PCP air rifles which have air tanks you fill to 200-300 bar. It would probably be deadly if it ruptured close to your body. But those cylinders are 1-2 inches in diameter so can't be compared to this if they are measured in mm. does any of your episode show this hydraulic system and how you built it and show hardware? I tried to find but failed. Btw how does the torque compare between the scale and the real? If if is to scale it would be super interesting if you did a video series of comparing and demonstrating all these stuff. Testing things like if it could pull a car with ease, or challenge it to a tug of war to see who would win. Quick estimation but if your car is 1500kg it would translate to around 650-700 tonnes which would be very close to a fully loaded CAT 797F. :D
