How to build a header for pole barn. Building a 16 foot header

    We're so spoiled with our nail guns... Hate when we can't use them on big projects. Keep the kitten out of the liquid nail 🤣 Thanks for sharing!

    Yes we are. Sometimes using a hammer does a body good. I have to get my nail gun fixed though:)

    Wow great tip, If I ever have a homestead I'll need to know how to do this. Are you building everything by yourself? That's a huge endeavor.

    Why not make it 3 2x thick Center one over lap in the center Other 2 over lap on each side

    Because of cost mainly. With 2 - 2 by's and 3/4 inch plywood the header is more than strong enough for my purpose. By adding another 2 by 12 it would increase my cost by 1/3 and I really wouldn't be getting anything for the increased cost. Plus the added weight would have pushed my limit trying to lift it in place.I am old and I can't lift what I could when I was younger LOL. Great question, Thanks for asking.

    I dont mean to be captain OSHA here,,but,,well how can I ask this delicately? Are those safety flip-flops? Asking fora friend,,who has a similar pair of "safety " foot wear.

    LOL that is to funny, because in my past life I was a safety trainer. I love my flip flops but they don't offer much protection. Tell your friend I can hook him up with a pair, Thanks for watching.
