This week we revisited an old project of ours to make the DIY Hammock Stand 2.0! This version is adjustable to fit any hammock you like. That was what our customer emails were mainly about for the first version, it wouldn't fit their hammock. Not to worry now!
Thank you to The Home Depot for sponsoring this project! You can check out the all-new Ryobi HP One+ 18V Brushless Drill and Impact Driver here: homedepot.sjv.io/AJVvK (affiliate link)

Thank you so much for watching this video! Here are the project plans to go along with this build! www.woodbrew.tv/store/p/adjustable-hammock-stand-plans
Love your channel. You certainly contribute more than you take. Best of luck to you both.
pause at time 7:11 the 4x4 is 5 1/2 ft long. 2x4's are 4ft long and the support 4x4 is at a 65 degree angle. the hole for the eye-bolt is 3in down and center. the rest is cosmetic to your liking.
Good afternoon neighbor! (I live in Fairhope as well) I built this for my daughter and she loves it. Thanks for giving me a reason to pull my tools out of storage!

How did your build go?
@gemmafranco744
3 жыл бұрын
@@rossharper1903 I haven't finished yet. I did all the cutting, but I don't have a proper workshop, so I have to work outside. I'm waiting for the rain to stop and Friday to come again. Also, finding bolts and screws at the moment is not that easy. Had to go to four different hardware stores and make do with what I found. Hopefully will finish this weekend🤞
Hi Kiddos. I just downloaded these plans. Awesome design and headed out to grab some materials. Keep up the great job

That would be awesome! Congrats on the house!!
I have a huge hammock so I have it extended with about a 14" on either side of the base 4x4 and it bows quite a bit. I'm going to replace the 4x4x8 with a 4x4x12 with some more bolts and see how that goes.
@wolfgaidin

Hi! I was looking at this design and am in the same boat as you - did using the 4' x 4' x 12' work to eliminate the bowing? I'm also a big guy at 310 lb., so the amount of compressive force is a concern before I go out and buy materials. I was also thinking of adding another pair of angled 4' x 4' supports that attached to the insides of the main uprights to the ground on the inside of the frame to take some of the stress. Thank you in advance!

Yards are clean, but debris by the roads are not just yet 😅😅
Our friends gave us a 16’ hammock. Any tips on expanding you cool design to fit this size. Thanks and love your channel!!!
You could make a 25° cut opposite of what you want your 65° to make that angle
Would you be able to make that center 4x4 brace as an adjustable brace? Looks like it might be doable. If so, that would be awesome!
@Woodbrew
3 жыл бұрын
So you can move the two sides apart along the 4x4 as far as you need to make the whole stand adjustable!
Had a thought. You could space out a few holes on one side of the bottom so when/if you need to adjust the base there are already pre-drilled holes. That would also be a way you could sell these without having a specific hammock attached. Hope that makes sense. Just a thought. Great design!!
@Woodbrew
3 жыл бұрын
That’s a great idea!
For that weird drilling angle, you could make a drill guide by drilling a hole in a square block and then mitering the angle off one end.
@Woodbrew
3 жыл бұрын
You could!
How much would the wood cost average for this project?
I built one of these after meeting you guys at the gathering in Skiatook, OK.

@@Woodbrew yes sir it is and with your plans online it's a no-brainer. As long as you keep your fingers away from the sharp spinning things. Hahaha
What kind of weight could it handle?
❤❤❤❤❤
I dont know if yall will see this comment so late but ... is there a weight limit? My brother and I want to build this for his backyard but he's 6'4 and my sister in law is 5'10 ...
nice project, how long did it take to make your first one, how much materials should it cost? I feel the structure looks a little overkill, do you think this could be make with 2x4's or 2x6's instead (and still support 2 medium adults)?
All those trees and you build a hammock stand? Now you're just showing off!
Really nice update to one of your best projects. One question about The Home Depot sponsorship-- being from Alabama, did you feel conflicted at all wearing that orange hat? Just wondering, here in the Volunteer state!

Nah WAR EAGLE BABY 💙🧡
Why 65° and not an easier 45°? Is that too steep for a hammock? Love the design and plan to try it out. Thanks a lot! (btw...congratulations on engagement)
@Woodbrew
3 жыл бұрын
Yea it would be too steep and we would rather have those leaning more outwards. Hope you try it! Thank you SO much!
I clicked the link for the plans and got an error, stating this page does not exist.
The link to the plans is broken. :(
Is the smaller one also an impact driver?
@Woodbrew

One is a drill and one is an impact!
Buenas noches me podría dar las medias porfavor
Any reason you just didn’t use two 45 degree angles. It would work the same, be easier to cut, and maybe even look better.
You need a slight design change so the dog can get in and out when your not there. Cheers
I don't see no link to get all the details. Help.

You may wanna consider reducing the price on the plans. Adding up the cost of all the material and the plans, it is turning out to be slightly expensive than the cheapest pre-built alternative on Amazon
When you are giving direction on building your hammock frame you need to give the measurements of each peace of each peace.
