This style is can also be really easy to thrift, especially oversized leather bomber jackets and blazers, which would be much more expensive to buy new!

You might like the acubi aesthetic too (I have a video on it as well)! It has a similar vibe to downtown girl but I think it's a bit more minimalistic

OMG GIRL YOU ARE A LIFESAVER! My aesthetics are really messed up because I had no idea what my aesthetic/style was and my closet was a big explosion of random, different aesthetics but now I found your channel and found out my aesthetic is actually romantic academia in the morning and dark academia at night (like a cherries and cinnamon kind of vibe) which is super weird and even weirder when my whole closet is mainly streetwear so.... BUT THANK YOU for clearing things up in terms of style/vibe/aesthetic and now I even have matching perfumes and everything so THANK. YOU.

Mariel TYSM for doing this one. 💛💛💛Love this! I’ve been downtown girl forever and didn’t know it had a name!!! Aritzia and Abercrombie are some of my faves I love chill sleek basics for everyday. (I Also happen to live geographically near NYC my whole life so that prob has a lot of influence on my general style. Happy holidays! I do mix in clean girl, dark romantic, coquette, and whimsy goth aesthetics for night time and going out too !

Great video! You described the trend well and it’s interesting to see your take on it as I live in Australia and there’s kind of a beachy version of this here especially during the summer. I’d love to see more reference photos of people with larger / plus size bodies as being a size 16 it can be hard to envision the looks for myself when all the images show thin people. Not meant as a criticism but a suggestion ☺️

Thank u for the suggestion! I usually just grab all my pics from pinterest and if there is a pic with a plus size person or poc I always try to include those, but I can definitely try harder to find more! Im all for more inclusivity 🥰

mingalondon is really overpriced, though.... it's not financially an option for average people seeing as their prices are INSANE. i also think it's gotten exposed for being fast fashion but they've just been hiding it better than shein, zara or h&m etc :((

Aw really? Do u have any sources about minga london being fast fashion? I always attributed their high prices being due to their sustainability so that’s such a bummer if true :(
