    Do you put pilot holes into the joists within the structure or just the end? Just about to build a raised deck in a week or so.

    Nice deck but : Suggest using galvanized brackets ( called hangers here in North America) to support joists versus using only screws in each joist end and - more of an overhang on the decking beyond the trim board added on the sides of the deck .

    if your starting a deck project you need to checkout *mysecretblueprints. com* for the best plans, everything is well laid out (schematics, blueprints, materials lists, dimensions etc.)

    +bandq - Your 400mm c/c diagram is incorrect. It shows a gap of 400mm instead of centre to centre, which would be a 350mm gap approximately.

    Looks like joist are two foot on center. Joist should be 16 inch on center for 5/4 inch thick deck boards.

    Glad to here you are going to make another video please don't have that arm waving Wolly that left all the work to the very capable lassie.If left on her own she would have done it in half the time..Apart from him it was a good video.
