Brother you have saved me so much time and effort in researching diablo products. I'm about to purchase a bike that *almost* looks identical to this. I love the bobber look and can't wait to get back on the open road. Thanks again and have a great one. Oh and for the record, if anyone is looking for a great bike, I implore you to look at these Honda Rebels... the power to weight ratio is unmatched in the cruiser lineup, is minimalistic, and is very affordable in comparison to basically anything remotely close. I can't imagine much of a better bang for the buck than what these have to offer.

Had my rebel (Riley) se from new for a year, done less than 90 miles after moving 250 miles away, I’ve finally taken delivery of it again after her being sat at my parents for the last 8 months and I cannot wait to start treating her to some well deserved upgrades from kspeed. Love the look of your bike man. Thanks for providing links of the parts. Just bought a Rebel two days ago and all I’m thinking about it adding mods to it. Question, are the rear blinkers would classify as a defect? I was planning to drill holes on the rear fender (k speed rear fender) and have the blinkers there? Then have the number plates just below of the brake lights (hoping it won’t scrub the tyre?
@TweakedGSX
Жыл бұрын
In Australia, provided that indicators are more than 25cm apart and are E stamped my understanding is that they are complaint. I have never had any issues from the police. Unfortunately the licence plate is too heavy and close to the tire to hang it off the end of the rear shorty fender. The wiring loom would also rub the tyre constantly and create issues. The only 2 ways then are to side mount it or to have a back shorty seat rest and mount it to that with lights. This method I had considered but it interrupts the design element of the bike.
This bike is sexy, I have a drz400 sm and I want to add this to my collection of bikes.
@TweakedGSX

Thanks, it's quite the change from stock appearance but as you will see it's relatively easy to do. Honda made the frame for this design copying everything from Harley but at a much more affordable price 👍
Does anyone know if you can add a passenger seat to this rear fender? The fender is awesome looking but no good if I can’t bring a passenger

Glad you're enjoying the series. My bike is fully modded now and I'm just enjoying riding it now. If you check my videos this is a common question and I've also commented in the Rebel FB groups. I recommend rear suspension replacement rather than changing the seat. Changing the seat is a bandaid solution for correcting what is very sloppy suspension on the Rebel. In my first video you will see I went with the black version of the Rebel special edition seat instead of the brown. I then went with the fully adjustable YSS rear suspension over Ohlins👍

@@TweakedGSX Öhlins, looks like they don't make them yet for the 2023 Rebel 500, although I'm guessing older years would still be compatible. Either way, both YSS and Öhlins are a bit above my price range. I will be looking for a decent alternative for the suspension, though, thanks for that tip.
Take some Mcguires back to black and put it on every black plastic part. It makes the black deeper and less gray. Trust me it will look more badass.

Question, I am going to be purchasing a Honda Rebel 500 soon and I am looking to customise mine in a similar fashion to yours. I am wondering if it is possible to install a pillion seat onto that rear fender (The diablo one) I would like to have the option to add/remove the pillion seat and retain the overall style you have here. Nice videos btw!
@TweakedGSX
Жыл бұрын
Thanks 👍 unfortunately it's not compatible. The shorty fender isn't strong enough to carry the seat on top. The OEM fender has a hole in the centre that the pillion seat bolts onto. The weight of the passenger is spread across the rear fender which is solid in construction. The shorty fender is some type of plastic and would crack in a split second

The only thing i hate about this bike is the license plate location!! I really want those tail lights just not too sure about where to put the number plate.
@TweakedGSX
Жыл бұрын
You have no choice unless you want to drill the rear fender, and put a bracket in line with the centre of the tyre. that would be dangerous though as the plastic fender is not designed to take that weight. It also means that if it hit the tire, it is likely to fling up and hit your back/head which would result in an injury, and potentially causing a crash from debris. The side mount solution is the only real solution and I love it.
