Perfect! I Built a garden shed very similar. Cost me screws and that was it. Had reclaimed corrugated metal that was saved from an old roofing job. Also built a 4x8 greenhouse nursery for practically nothing. Old pallets and reclaimed wood.. Purchased scrapped out industrial plexiglass from work for next to nothing and added automatic greenhouse vent openers which was most of the cost. A person can do a lot with "nothing". The wife has continuously complained about all the junk in the yard and recently stopped once I turned that junk into a garden shed that she desperately wanted. That junk is simply inventory... nice job

It's opposite here. I'm a woman and hubby keeps complaining about the junk on our yard which are my stuff related to my gardening and DIY projects. The junk are going away because I slowly using them.
Enjoyed your video so much. Now I’ll be making a coop for our chickens. 😉 BUT the best part is how you thank our Lord for all he has given us. I feel like I’d enjoy being neighbors.

I hope your coop turns out great! Without the Lord I would be nothing!
I can't fully express how much I enjoy y'alls content. It's got a certain positivity and joy running through it, which is sorely needed. Your vids on using a Weber kettle to do BBQ got me started, and it's now something like 3+ years of Briskets, Turkeys, Pork, etc - all from a nothin' special $150 kettle. I'm really grateful for the inspiration and advice. God Bless!

I'm thankful to hear that! We hope to inspire and encourage folks as much as possible!
This is a great building. For added stability I would have reversed the layers of the outer layer of wood. This would have tied the upper pallets to the lower pallets. If you can find a cheap source of outdoor paint it will help protect the wood and help your building last longer.

You mean you would’ve used the outside planks horizontally instead of vertically?
Looks great! You can’t beat that at all. Pallets are usually easy to find so this is a great project for almost anyone.

Thank you! It's possible to do it even cheaper than we did too!
I’ve been pondering how to use pallets to make a small tool shed. This fits the bill perfectly. Thank you!
THANK YOU! This video is a LIFE saver! I have been searching for weeks for the perfect layout for my coop and I can get tons of pallets for free so this video has been the BEST I've found. Love it so much and cant wait to get started on it tomorrow!
You ain't gonna beat that for less than $50! It looks great and suits it's purpose and looked like a simple build. We built one last year that cost WAY too much because we started with skids but got too fancy with it as we went along and turned into something I could probably live in myself if I had to lol. I need to build one more and this is exactly what I have in mind. Besides, I can't afford to go all out again this year.
Absolutely BRILLIANT !! Great way to use the pallets to save money, chickens don't need a house of versace just a safe coop. Thank you for your idea and skill!
God bless yall for giving Him thanks! I appreciate the video. I've already built a coop but my wife and I are going to be moving to our homestead in a few months and I will need to build another coop. material cost is crazy these days, this video helps so much with an idea.
Awesome video one thing you may want to consider is ventilation around the top for the moisture to escape
It looks great! Love the repurposed pallets. I hope to make one for my little homestead.
You made a good looking coop for absolutely the right price! Resourceful and careful. The only things I might change is adding a door, and setting the nesting boxes outside so they don’t poop on your eggs when roosting. Plus the structure is movable on the blocks. Great job!
Great walkthrough! I'm not sure that I'd do it the exact same way, but this is a goldmine for ideas and a good basis on how to start this project.
Thank you for sharing your homesteading adventure! I'm gonna use your pallet chicken coop idea on my own property. I'm excited to homestead as much as I can for me, my husband and 6 kids.

Great approach to having a sturdy chicken coop and decreasing your dependency on the (intentionally) fragile food chain. God Bless and keep up the good work!
Pallets for the win! You are correct is does not cost a lot to build a chicken coop. Great job! That has always been my plan for this type of project and others.
Sir, this is an awesome build, and recycling old pallets and plastic baskets was both smart and efficient. You've inspired me to finally get started.
Found you through your "grilling for beginners" video! Thanks for your content! Looking forward to seeing your journey process! Love from Texas!

Glad your here! We're sharing our homesteading content now but grilling and BBQ is still going to be a major part of this channel! More to come! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. My daughter and I have been collecting pallets to do this but honestly we don't know what the hell we're doing. This gives us a good idea on how to assemble it all you're also very easy to listen to so thanks again
Nice job! Thanks for showing how we can use the stuff that is around us all the time and put it to good use. I enjoyed it and will be designing and building one with my family soon!
Awesome! We are currently building one that began with 2 straight trees my dad cut down to use as the foundation poles. The coop section has no floor. Ours has found materials too, it is 18x25 with a shed area for other things
I liked how you showed it step by step and included how many pallets and what tools you used and all. I've been trying to find a cheap way to build a coop and I think I'm going to try this one. But I'm going to add a window and insulation (I live in a cold winter state) to it. Thank you for doing such a GREAT job and idea.

Subscribed from a fellow native eastern Kentuckian! I heard that accent and it sounded like home!
Awesome! I used our old wooden fance and pallets for my 1st coop but need to redo the roof because I made it too flat. This video gave me some ideas on how to this cheap. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video. I've been thinking I couldnt afford to build a coop, but y'all showed me a great way.
Fully functional and you can't beat the price. Very impressive.

I love this. We have an old coop that is falling apart and I am looking for ideas to remodel it. ❤ We do have two pallets already, so this might be enough to revamp ours nicely. Thank you for the detailed video 🥰
Love you guys. Looks great! Great idea, too.

Just found you! Thanks so much for sharing! We are planning on getting chick's this summer and need to build a coop. I get all the free pallets from someone I work for.. We may just follow your build!!
That's pretty awesome, I'm glad I clicked on your video! I'm doing a bit of research on making my own chicken coop and I'll be using your video as a reference. Am trying my best to make it and other projects with as little budget as possible. everything is imported in here so it's currently very expensive. Thanks very much and greetings from the tiny Pacific Islands of Palau 🇵🇼🇵🇼🇵🇼!

This is amazing! I might try this. Thanks!
I know what to do with my girls now. I've bought store made and they last 2 years. I can usually find pallets everywhere. Thank you. Those milk crates brought back memories of family who worked in Charleston WV
Awesome job very nice work👍🏼👍🏼and thank you for sharing.
This is awesome for those of us who are broke. I've got 4 little biddes in a tote with a heat light, but soon I'm going to have to build them a coop.
You have been my inspiration! I have watched your video about 10x at least. I had a lousy drill and dull deck screws. I just invested in a better drill and at a stand still now on my coup. What size and type screws did you use at min marker 3:03 to get through the depth of the stringer boards? THANKS!
Thanks so much for sharing!! Working on mine now
This is a great idea. We need to do that. Thank you! Can you paint the roof with something that would protect it from rusting?
That is a great idea, well done video!

Excellent construction job using pallets. i had to break the bad news to my free range hens this Easter morning, that, regretfully numbered are their days of laying a couple of eggs and then basically taking the rest of the day off with ranging privileges' within the parameters of a few very nice rural acres - parts of which are rich with fat grubworms. There's even a short dirt road between the main barn and the farmhouse which they're free to cross to get to the other side as often as they'd like. My rooster Ben overheard me and he ain't too happy either, knowing full well that within a day or two, I'll have several cans of chicken in my pantry and couple of whole chickens in the deep freeze. .Thank you Kitchen Alpha for allowing me to share.
Thank you! I have milk crates in my basement and plenty of pallets. I'm pretty sure I have concrete bricks in the yard too!
This inspired me to make a coop also. Great video. You explained this in a way that even I can understand it and I seem to have a difficult time with this type of thing lol. Are you only putting 2 chickens in there or did you add some nesting boxes?
Just found you all great content and keep them coming

Nice job on your coop. You might consider reinforcing your rafters with some four footers and a few more screws to give the roof deck more strength. That joint is a potential weak spot. ( I have thirty years experience as a commercial roofing contractor. ) Also for your next project you can use synthetic rubber (epdm) that one can get for free when this type of roofing is replaced.
Wow! That turned out great!

Great job, thanks for the good ideas to build my second one.
Looks beautiful
Going to do this myself very soon. Looking at different roofing options but may go with the same. Do you think the pallet planks would make a good shakes roof?
Great video. Good work.
