Thanks for watching! If you'd like to support the Channel, I made a Knot Tying Reference Card + Practice Ropes to follow along with the videos! www.amazon.com/dp/B0CV4K2LSX?maas=maas_adg_F7AE5C95AE226DF61DB510B64731B6A7_afap_abs&ref_=aa_maas&tag=maas&th=1 Here's some great info on Chaga if you're interested: www.webmd.com/diet/health-benefits-chaga-tea If you want to buy some, I prefer the powdered extract in my coffee, you can get it here: amzn.to/403kyeJ
Oh my goodness, I practiced my constrictor knot along with you in this video (I knew ZERO about knots before discovering your channel in recent weeks) and got it exactly right! Seems like an infant thing to celebrate but it is a big deal for a person with barely any outdoor adventure experience.

Wonderful, this honestly makes me so happy!! Just be careful not to tie it around (a body part) as it can be incredibly difficult to get undone when it's snugged up.

Knot childish at all to celebrate your first steps into an exciting new world. I've had a lot of people criticize me in the past for being curious about bushcraft and wilderness survival and stuff because I'm a woman but it's honestly been some of the best skills I've ever decided to pick up since I ended up homeless. I think this sort of thing should be looked at the same as cooking, sewing, car maintenance, and budgeting. Essential life skills that all people should know regardless of gender. Just make sure you keep practicing it.

In scouts, we actually do squarelash ladders. We tie every rung individually to the wood, and it takes so long. This certainly saves time

Oh that would take a bunch of cordage too, I suppose it makes a more permanent version, but this one seems to do fine
That was top class, DJ, straightforward and easy to follow. Thanks as always 👍.

very nice short! but a little tip regarding safety: the angle of the ladder was much too steep you could tip over backwards
@TheBearEssentials

Thx a bunch! The angle of the camera is a slight bit deceiving, it’s about a 70 degree angle, about what we use in firefighting. But I should have commented on this telling people to make it less steep! Thank you!!

Always keep the distance of the base a third of the full length of ladder, and keep your gravity center forward, to me the ladder position in the video was right 😉😁👍. Water in line!!!!👨🚒

Depends on your usage! I’m releasing a video talking about all the different types + my own bear essentials cordage in the coming month or so.
Sadly, no chaga or birch for easy fires in my area of Texas.
DUUUDE!!!! IM one of those guys who knows the importance of knowing this stuff yet is cursed with an inability to understand. No I'm not "slow"... I have an IQ of 140. But you have a way of explaining that works for me. Many thanks! Long form or short I'm watching your vids.

Wow this is so nice to hear. I really annoy feedback like this because I found the exact same thing when watching vids and trying to learn. So I just create vids that I would be able to learn from lol
For me the health benefits of that tea don't offset the extra health risk climbing that tree but cool improvised ladder, could be useful in some situations.

Absolutely. You can grab the chaga from more reachable areas If your not comfortable with the ladder :)

The situation is you're in the middle of nowhere and someone you love is dying of infected wound.... Among other things...
Find a stick, tie axe to stick, use stick-axe to slap mushroom until it falls. Eat ladder.
Mercies as thank you God's creative vengeanced jealous fashioned love (monger) is more creative than the created, humans, earFlings Songs of Solomon 8:6-7
Or throw a stone
No disrespect but couldn't you use a single long stick to poke/hit and get it down.
@TheBearEssentials
7 ай бұрын
You likely could, but It's very tough to do in a responsible way. I like to only take a bit, and preserve the majority of the chaga so I can harvest the area in future years. Also, I enjoy tasks while out camping, as well as demonstrating skills for people to learn on here :)

@@TheBearEssentials okay that I did not think about. A bit like honey harvesting take a little only and leave the rest.

Take that downed tree and knock the mushroom down....
@TheBearEssentials
7 ай бұрын
Hey, ya you could always try that. This one took 5 hard axe blows to sever a chunk. The reason I wouldn't recommend it is because you dont want to take all the chaga off, just a bit. That way it can grow back and reproduce, leaving you with a spot to harvest for years to come.. in a sustainable way.
it will never be 3.5 min!!!
