I thought MDF was a better surface than Plywood. I bring this up because Pre-made tables are either Slate (very costly) or MDF (Affordable). If I'm not mistaken MDF is less money per sheet than Plywood and better for the playing surface and ball action? On a side note, very nice job!

Good finished plywood like 3/4" birch is similar in density and weight to MDF but much stiffer. MDF is floppy. But also much smoother than plywood and you don't have to sand away the imperfections. I'm using MDF for my playing surface and plywood for the rest.

@@Shakshuka69 For anyone interested the reason you would you MDF over plywood is because plywood tends to bend/live slightly, whereas MDF wont and thats why MDF keeps a more level surface over time.

I prefer using hdf as slate and frame Cox most of the mrf produce here cannot withstand hammatan without folding or danple but hdf are thicker to prssureand if you talk about the ball rolling double the rug with a thicker fibre under before the top surface and see the perfection I am talking from.experience I am a technician from Nigeria over 8 boards of MDF had the same problem last December and 2 are still undonevdue to fund

The best wood to use is Formwork Plywood (used for concrete production) as it's incredibly flat, firm and resilient to moisture & warping, but it's quite expensive. MDF is much more affordable and much smoother than regular plywood and will never warp which is why the vast majority of good quality wooden tables use MDF. I'll intend to use 18mm MDF for my build as formwork plywood is extremely difficult to get hold of, but if I'm lucky enough to get my hands on some I will use formwork.

Your joking right? U didn’t just put the felt on a piece of wood right? That’s supposed to be stone the woods just gonna dent and create bumps all over the table after just one game looks beautiful but that’s about it literally unusable
