I am so impressed by everything in this project. The footswitched gears, the clever placement of the fuel tank, the option of removing the frame if further work has to be done on the axle or the engine and over all finish making the Scooter almost look like it came out of the factory. Nothing half-assed. It's awesome.

You seem to be a very smart man so please wear a helmet when you ride something like that my cousin got brain damaged from falling off a motorcycle drunk at a stop sign and I had them save my melon more times than I can remember. Just would hate to see you lose your interesting intelligence from something so easy to prevent and keep on building those crazy machines

Do wear a helmet, Colin. it's a good idea. Though, Josh, I think your example is a bit, er, skewed.

Trust me if you had anyone close to you get brain damage from a slow speed fall at a stop sign . he did hit his head on the curb is why it was so bad and he calls me jig my nickname he hasn't called me since he was 8 he don't remember shit it sucks he lost all the memories of all the life when we lived together and all the great memories of all the great times we had together he was like my older brother so yeah I'd say my opinion is a little skewed but its the truth if he was wearing a helmet he would of just walked away I seen it happen it didn't look serious till we was laughing at him for being a Jack ass till he didn't get up and when he did he went crazy didn't no anyone not even his wife and kids. I helped him pick the bike and was teaching him to ride now I'm teaching him to read again and that was 2 years ago and he still don't remember almost 30 years of us being so close

And I hit a tree head on with my quad runner racing thru the woods and it split my helmet my head was fine I got compression fractures in my spine from it but my melon was fine Dr said force it took to split my helmet and break my back would of killed me %100 same as when I jumped my car of a hill with a kick ramp to make it spiral like a football was supposed to land back on tires and it landed on the roof 120 feet out from ramp smashed roof almost to the door knocked me out cold broke my helmet then to and my back for the second time so I know from a lot of experience they work great at protecting your brain I crashed so many cars and whatever else you can think off that is fast and fun to ride and push to the limit I wanted to be just like swanky Spangler after I seen him jump Rio grand wit rocket powered semi onto flat ground . I am an adrenaline junky and I have done a lot off crazy stupid scary shit wear you can be killed from anything going wrong I do understand that rush when you hit and try to push the limits and that's the most addicting drug there is to me.but i always wear a helmet I don't want to be a vegetable and a burden on my family my body can heal or just hurt but your brain doesn't always heal.

Yea man some falls can be nasty, ikr as I work as a courier on motorcycle. Though now in summer (or getting close to) I tend to take it off when going through small streets inside of those neighborhoods that are well outside from downtown. Where you basically see a car every 5 or 10 minutes, and you don't go faster than 20mph or 25.
