That’s exactly how I did my trip budget! i put the money on my checking and then tracked my transactions. The only difference is that I used my CC and pay myself back at the end of the trip! glad you brought back the traveling pack!

how are you spending $51 on a meal for 4 people....? I am assuming this was a restaurant, typically a meal for 4 people is like $100. (i would love to know how to save, eating out is so expensive and a big way to socialize/connect with others)

Oh yes!

I recently spent 30 days traveling Europe and I filed all my receipts in my envelopes as I received them. I did spend a lot of cash but was also traveling with a friend and we alternated payments but I still collected all the receipts for both. Then, every couple of days, while on a train or something, I would reconcile all charges on a ledger to track my overall spending and the difference owed between my friend and me. In the end, I Venmo'd her $30 after the trip because, after all the many transactions, we had ended up that close to what we had each paid for. Also, I ended up spending about $4,300 so there were a lot of transactions. I love the system you have made and used similar categories while saving for my big trip. One note is travel insurance--for a more spendy or advance-planned trip, IT IS A MUST! Just a tip to consider in the future from someone who travels a lot and works in tourism.

No point in keeping the receipts if prices keep changing!
