Here is a video on a few techniques on how to break in a new baseball glove. Although this video shows a few ways to break in a new baseball glove, my favorite way is to just play catch, condition the leather with vasoline, and just take care of the glove! I'm diggin the perfect game hat. Pg Iowa is where it's at.
good idea
I know I was scared to, but it didn't hurt it
Find a cobbler or shoe repair shop in your area. Go there, ask for a bottle of Neatsfoot Oil. Get an oil paint brush. Dip brush into oil, then "paint" your glove making sure not to let it pool anywhere. Put ball in pocket, wrap tight, leave overnight. Repeat 3 days in a row, than beat the crap out of it/play catch. Repeat process until broken in to desired specs.
Good point
play catch
These are the best ways to break a glove in

rico gloves
Best part of the video 2:45.
@EveryThing520 Yeah!!!!! Catchers FTW!
cool
The water method may work but water ruins the leather and i prefer forming the glove to my hand by playing with it and also just playing catch.
not significantly
i have a question. When u put the entire glove in the water and take it out, how to make sure that the inside part will dry the next time u play and ur hand wont be smelly ?
i need my gloves done really quick i have a nike keystone 12" and a wilson a500 11 and a half
Cooking a $300 glove is the WORST idea ever =((

YouGoPro but it has shortened the gloves life by about 1 year
Just play catch with it its better because it forms to your hand
i baked my old golve and got 1 season out of it then it ripped not sure if it was the baking or just the good ol wear and tear...
the laces are going to get brittle even if you put hot glove on
Quick question I broke in my glove and it's developed a wrinkle by and around the pocket is there any way that they can be removed
i have a indoor baseball academy that i go to also in indianapolis my pitching teacher plaued for the yankees
@PoonSlaying101 get a nokona then, but their gloves are very heavy, or an a2000 or global elite
do u prefer rico gloves over rawlings gloves?
How about you add the temp of the oven
Leather turns black. I did that with my glove. It being tan also didn't help.
Is that a more white than it is bone? or is it straight bone?
Is this good for a first base trapper?
What temperature did you use for the oven
would that color glove be legal for pitchers by NCAA standards?
In the thumbnail picture I see there's a white glove. Where did you get it, or where can I find one???
you air dry it. I put my flare in the dryer and it didnt mess it up but I wont try it again just to be safe.
are rico gloves good
does te glove become heavier with the oven method?
where do you give lessons?
Good video, nice dogs

Just bought a new Easton today! This video is going to help get it to fit just right!
I would never put a new glove in an oven, in water, or in the dryer. I play catch and add wilson glove conditioner. Its called respect
Putting it in cold water will dry the leather, if u use hot water and apply some heat it won't. But you should put it in the oven, put it in the trunk of your car
Where can I he a RICO glove?
I've heard that putting the glove in the oven hurts the glove, but did it do anything to it with the hot glove stuff, I have just the spray form of it and also have a rico glove I will need to break in when if comes

Jake Torres you fix it yet?
Does anyone know anything about these rico gloves? ive been looking into getting one, but im not interested in any "game ready out of the box" gloves, im looking for a really stiff glove I can spend time breaking it in.
the clothes dryer works great. but oil it first then put in the clothes dryer
ur a genius
would vasoline work??
is this glove 12 inches
what team were you on?
wouldn't water ruin the leather on the glove?
Shaving cream for 12 hours soften's gloves great!
I've watched a lot if videos and most say to to submerge glove in water but I tried some of these methods and they worked
does running it over with a 2 1/2 truck work? Cuz im willing to try that!
What size is it?
My glove is all discolored , I tried putting vaseline on the spots but it doesnt help . Any recommendations ?

RiveraTeamWavii Rico gloves is coming out with a cleaner and conditioner soon. It may help get the light surface stains out with the cleaner and the Glove Conditioner is really nice.
Should I use the hot glove treatment on my a2000 or not

No
What model is this glove???
And the water in the glove will ruin the leather and could lead to mold on your glove
I have a couple gloves right now. I have the Rico that you see in this video. I also have a brand new Kissimmee Sticks glove that I am breaking in. But the one I use the most right now is an old beat up catchers mitt. I have a bunch of Rawlings gloves from when I was playing pro ball too.
Vaseline and the Nokona conditioner is practically the same thing

True! I prefer Vaseline…it's cheaper
does kissime sticks make gloves? Can I buy one and whats the quality?
Not if you dry it off.
Play catch, catch balls in the batting cage, put a small amount of vasoline on your glove every once in a while, and use the "two in the pinky" approach when wearing your glove.
I used all of them and it really worked now It feels great!
Very nice. I've never heard this technique before. Thanks
When you first get the glove play catch don't close the glove just let it hit the palm and web and bounce out. The reason you do that is so it stretches the foams and leather then take your glove mallet and hit the break points that's the best natural way to break it in
when i bought my wilson A2000 the guys at the store used a mizuno steamer, it has seemed to work pretty well. i also have just used the nakona glove grease and beat the hell out of it with the mallet, i have a great pocket and the glove feels amazing. if i were to ever buy another glove i wouldn't mind trying that method with the glove heat and oven.
It's a glove, not a burrito. PLAY CATCH and wrap it at night.
dude i just put it in the dryer and it worked perfectly thank you YouGoPro
I do it the old old fashion way and works great. First day I get I just play a lot of toss, establishing a pocket and break points then conditioning it with Nokana and wrap it with rubber bands, shoe laces, glove wrap, or a belt and have a ball in the pocket. Due this everyday and it will be game ready in around 1 month. :)
I need help relacing my Wilson A350
id dont remember asking
It depends on how many catches you are doing. You can speed the process up by getting in the batting cages and catching a lot of balls in a short amount of time.
Thank you
yes, just uploaded one yesterday
All I did was play with it and oil it once ' I oiled it again a week later cause I saw wrinkles
Bale dinero el guante
i used all of these methods for my glove and it is broke the perfect way for me
