Amber Arras when I have to do manes alone and I usually do, I use a hay bag or net to keep them Moderately still and at my level, Could try that if you haven’t found something as of yet, cheers

PONY CAM if she braid daily I’d imagine it’s routine and cross ties do help a lot if you have them, I just stuff a hay bag/net In front of mine 😝

Myrine De Waard that’s probably because you put the braid too tight maybe try doing it looser and not braiding your horses withers.

every few french braids, don’t add more hair for a couple folds and then resume french braiding. this allows more movement :)

i have tons of horses (well they’re my barn owners but no one rides them so i take care of all them) and i enjoy braiding their names and tails but i fail drastically at braiding the main not so much the tail-

Oh... I got the bracelet in 2009, and only had it off 2-3 times for MRI and airport security (Until I found out it won't beep if I keep it open ;) )

Rylan Austin I have a western pleasure horse and his mane is past the bottom of his neck and I don’t exactly know why I signed him up for show jumping in 4H

They call it a running braid but it soo likes like one beautiful mane corn roll. Gorgeous bred

Wow you braid so beautifully. My horse has a very thick mane that is hard to braid as the little hairs stick out all over the place!

Great but hard to follow cause my horses mane is on the other side of the neck. I tried it and it's tricky. I'll need more practice. Can you show it on the other side of the neck?

Hi, I have an Andalusian with a very long mane, however it looks short and messy at the withers and on the bridle path. Your Lusitano looks perfect. Have the withers and bridle path been clipped?

You can also use it with black electric tape. Rubber bands can tear the hair if you leave it in for a long time. Black electric tape doesn't tear the hair, doesn't leave a resudue unlike scotch tape, and is black so it still looks professional.

This does not look easy to me! But I am so motivated to try this on my new lusitanoX! His mane is crazy! (Do you clip the part of the mane that would otherwise be under the saddle pad?) Thank you so much for this great video!

This mane is to die for! My baroque pinto has friesian, crinkly hair. Can I achieve this result with a bit of water on his mane? Or will that destroy everything?

This horse ist absolutely beautiful and the braids are so neat...my Lusitano has a super thick mane. Every braid I tried didn't last longer than five minutes 😕

Yasmina she states in the video it’s to keep the mane as healthy as possible, it stops snagging and breakage under their bridle when being ridden.

With the forelock I always do it slightly looser then thread the plait back up through the braid and tuck it in x

No, you can’t. For the hunter ring you need small button braids that are tight on the horses neck.

Barons wife here/ I tried to braid my mini. My problem with the first time braiding was his mane being so thick. This style looks like it will work better than my first go. Your horse is beautiful!!! Love the braid style here!!!

I know this is a year late, but a tip for minis is to split the mane in two right down the middle. And then do a running braid on each side. Kinda like pigtails.
