yeah, most of us have been taught this generic tutorials which most youtubers have classified a fighting style, so most of the player base thinks there is only 2 styles of fighting

no but I mean what I would call most of what you did in the video would be vertical scissoring and energy fighting to drain the opponent's energy. I call boom and zooming a much slower kind of playing (I guess it would be more boom and running for you) as to me, a zoom climb is at most a 20° climb that (with a lower angle than a sustained climb, but because you are faster, you can climb faster while gaining separation)

Yea I wouldn't call what he's doing in this video boom and zooming. You boom down from high to lower alt, take your shot, and zoom out.

Extremely helpful video, mate. I've had so much trouble the last few days trying to upgrade my b&z and energy fighting planes. Turn fighting I can do pretty well. Aligning the cockpit with my target when I pull into that climb is exactly what I needed to hear. It simplified everything for me. Thanks for taking the time!

Yes but what he shows at the beginning is probably the most important. Engaging multiple targets and not going all in on one bandit.

I always used Boom And Zoom in every plane I used, except the A6M series...

I found you on reddit, and must say I am impressed. Good voice and unique accent combined with helpful tutorials make for some good watching, so thanks for sharing all of this. I have had some luck in RB, but these days I am focusing on sim combat, so these are helping.

Awesome video Green! Now, would you say these techniques apply only to BnZ fighters? Or can energy fighters, turn fighters, or planes with certain characteristics also benefit from these maneuvers?

certain planes with certain characteristics do better, as these fighting abilities are great for planes that doesn't loose speed easily, if you are in a TNB fighter and you have alt and speed, yes you can use them. But if you take a zero and fight a p47 at 7000-8000 meters , than its no because the engine power of the p47 kicks in a big way

BnZ fighters are not the same as energy fighters. Examples of good BnZ- fighters are fw-190, mustang. Energy fighters have good climb, BnZ have good dive and high speed energy retention and maneuverability

The problem is that gaijin itself teach boom and zoom on the generic way...

@@sule.A long5hot BnZ's differently from Green Fury. Green Fury at one point mentioned that hanging over an opponent and BnZing them the traditional way wouldn't work against experienced opponents. But all KZreadrs have their own way, it's just contrary to eachother

Do you keep prop pitch at 85 or 90? Or are your varying it between 100 and 85/90?

Who is the player you call out at 7:00 ? Always looking for some new tips /creative ideas ;) Its a little bit woozy that the smaller youtubers are most of the time the most educating once. Check out Broman by the way or Van Sinn but u might already know them. Good Vids keep it up ;)

His name is Takaleone, hes a bad man, he does alot of historical videos too, hes an awesome pilot to watch. Hes from the Juno squad, yeah i flown out with Broman and Van Sinn, Van and I made a tutorial video on team work maybe a month ago, Broman understands energy fighting very well, I think hes one of the best High alt energy fighters around.

Hi, just a question but I always try to use a chandelle on an enemy I know I am faster but they will always be able to hit and kill me or they will just continuously stay under me and never give me a chance to turn on them. I have no idea what to do.

1st thing you need is distance, 2nd thing you need to know is, do they have better performance than you at that alt, 3rd thing I was taught by pilots who are better than me is that, shallow climbing, If you know your plane is fast, you can out run them all day. one of the major things I learnt by playing against players who are better than me is, if you can control the distance you control the fight To do a chandelle, I usually get 2-3 Km of distance, I make sure they are at my alt or below me, One of the ways I learnt how to do a chandelle properly was by playing 1v1 against a friend, That will improve your performance and skill very fast

Interesting. It seems like I have l leaned a lot from these videos that I did not understand before. I plan to look over all the videos and guides you may have. I really want to become better and skilled. I look forward to it. I also agree with a statement I believe you may have said in another video. I am not sure to be honest. My memory fails me too often. That being how the Japanese and British trees are more fun to play at times. I really dislike the American, Russian, and German trees simply because it feels as if I am flying bricks. They might be faster in most regards however they do not possess the agility that the Japanese aircraft do. Ive always prefer a nimble lighter and sometimes faster aircraft than just speed or guns. There is so much more that is possible with said aircraft in my opinion.

They told me US fighters are best for boom and zoom. Every game I climb to 4000m and I encounter enemy bf109 coming towards me from 5000m. bf109 always one shot me.

What makes you think the P-51 isn't a BnZ fighter? Excellent top speed, very heavy airframe (and thus lots of inertia in low-G flight), low drag (combined with the heavy weight, makes for great energy retention). Very high dive limit. Excellent instantaneous turn ability at high speeds. All the qualities of a great BnZer. In the video you said that the P-51s weren't able to retain energy as well as you. The reason you were keeping energy better than the P-51s was because you were at low airspeeds and utilizing vertical maneuvers (i.e. energy fighting, not BnZ). The Raiden is a much better fighter in this regard than the P-51. But if you resorted to high speed dive and zooms, the P-51s would have "retained energy" better than you and caught you.

P51 has shit energy retention when pulling up it has good energy retention in a straight but if you pull up you lose a lot of energy because it is so heavy and lots of planes can outclimb it yea it does have good climb but not compared to 109 i know this is an old comment but for any new people dont listen to this guys comment you boom and zoom but its not great at it americans have a very specific playstyle

@@rosie1rok With 150 fuel (post August 1944) the P-51D matched or slightly out-climbed most version of the Me-109G or AS. Before August yes it was out-climbed by a plain G-6, but not out-zoomed.

He just mixed it up earlier in the vidoe he mentioned things to let you lnow he actually mearnt p51 not being an energy fighter

yeah bf109 cant turn like that so you are going to do this around 3800-6100 meters high you can dive to an altitude of minimum 700 meters if you go below that you are going to lose more energy than you gained while diving thats all I learnt in bf109

Definitely not boom and zoom. He is using his turning ability and his vertical maneuverability to beat the peoppe who are trying to dog fight him with boom and zoom planes. He's got it backwards

It's hard to do those maneuvers on xbox, the controller makes it difficult

you can't do it in all planes against all planes. That's the trick you have to learn... Watch the rest of his vids, learn the best and worst part of your planes and act acordingly. Have fun!

Yea it's very easy to not die in a Japanese zero lol. You can have no brain and still win every game in a zero.
