Good job on changing your brakes. One callout- Never work under a car with the wheels off without also placing a jack stand under the chassis. Hydraulic jacks can spontaneously lose pressure and fail, the car can roll, etc. Safety first!
If you want, you can leave the caliper bracket on and just slides the pads out, after the actual caliper is off. Saves you from having to buy a 17MM etorx socket and the shear amount of time to take it off and install back. Other than that, nice work man. This whole job (including taking the wheel off), for the front could be done in 45 min for less on entire front end.
Please use an axle stand - that could have gotten messy real quick.
what would us techs do without youtube... working on off brand cars
It seems you still have many left on your pads. Why is it out?
Nice job! Please make a video for the 2020 X3 for air filter and cabin filter.

Appreciate you for watching the video! I’ll keep that in mind! Maybe I’ll do one this week since it actually might be do!
How to get the 13 mm bolts off? I saw move the ranch clockwise
The 17mm wrench needs to be thin or it won’t work unless you jam it.

It’s in the end of the video
Great video, but I don't think you need new rotors, they look perfect to me,and I have changed my brakes all my life. But if that's what you want that is fine.
Does this method work even if it’s not due? I have about 17-1800 miles left but I plan on changing it sooner, will it still work to reset it even the service light is not on yet?

Yes it should work and reset the miles
You have to learn a lot about repairing the brakes on a car! Ceramic grease has to be used for the brake pads to operate correctly! A new sensor cable has to be installed to make it able to reset the BC!
Only 2 years old, how come it went out too soon? How many mileage?

What did you use to compress the piston
@stuntzzz
Жыл бұрын
Tool from cornwell for quad pistons but you can use anything to compress the piston like any other brakes they sell the tool at local auto stores or Amazon
thank you, I have been looking for this video for a while. also love the 4k quality. Question: is the front brake sensor the same part as the rear brake sensor. Also, where can i find the torque spec for those screws? thanks

Appreciate you for watching! Please like and subscribe & I have some brakes for years and don’t usually torque for brakes just make sure everything is bolted on correctly. Also the sensor is the same in the back I will be doing a video on how to do the rear as well soon.
So the sensor is reusable

Mechanic here that owns a shop and runs a mobile business. I have no clue what you’re talking about. We use only aftermarket parts because most BMW owners can’t afford OEM parts and never had a call back for rotors.
