Wow, we have mostly the same kind of hair, thick and wavy/ curly, and also bleached, but my hair only ever cooperates and looks good when I dry it at night before going to bed. But whenever I try to blowdry before going out, it's always a fried frizzy mess! Maybe it's because I live in a tropical country. My hair is so frustrating!

I mean, you can still use heat protectant and protect your hair from balding. It makes sense because it's hard for him to manage his curly hair so that's his only option. So yeah, you can go for it but make sure to use a heat protectant that has some nourishing ingredients too

I mean, I've blowdrying my hair with oil or a heat protectant spray since 4 months, I didn't saw a single sign of damage. No severe hairfall, just split ends but I can get them cut. That wasn't a big deal really, so you can go for it only if you have thick and coarse hair like me.

Well on the topic of heat damage. Use a high end salon grade heat protectant spray. Make sure to always style your hair on the day you wash your hair. Always make sure you take your time that way you can have a long last style. So you style your hair every 4-5 days when you wash your hair. That way your not using heat tools everyday. Because a good blowout should last you a fairly long time before your hair gets gross and you have to wash and restyle.
