When I applied many many years ago all u had to do was to attend a face to face in front of 3 interviers at their office that was located on the field at the airport! My profession uses both INTERpersonal and INTRApersonal as a common jargon within the job. Interpersonal skills focus on working with and making connections with others around you. You can add buzzwords like “worked as a lead sales associate to make intimate connections with our contractors” in your resume to trigger the interpersonal value.

Commenting on your question/remark - “Interpersonal skills” is a term specifically used within Human Resources and Recruitment. It simply means having the social skills to interact with people across multiple demographics. Two synonyms would be “people skills” or “emotional intelligence”

Definition - Interpersonal skills are the behaviors and tactics a person uses to interact with others effectively. In the business world, the term refers to an employee's ability to work well with others. Interpersonal skills range from communication and listening to attitude and deportment. My definition - The way we effectively connect/ communicate with others. Also it’s Association of Flight Attendants and Sara Nelson (CURRENT United FA) is the International President of AFA-CWA. I just wanted to correct it’s not American Flight Attendants. Love this video! ❤️

Just realizing that your story of how you left United is exactly what happened to me with Frontier regarding crew scheduling, and I was also new. It's interesting bc although that happened, I will always have a soft spot for Frontier. But I received an offer with Alaska and will start training in a few weeks. 🙂

I was hired by United in November of 1986 but had to wait until March 88 to report to training. That was due to the lawsuit by the "McDonalds" who were fired because marriage rules. I was in the first class of new hires. We still had three of these nice ladies in my class. I flew until late 2004 when a back injury forced me to stop. Many of my friends are still flying. My advice is to focus on service and teamwork, not on yourself. When I went to the "cattle call" everyone was asked why they wanted to be a Flight Attendant, most said because it was that they liked people and loved to travel. Wrong answer! I stated I had been serving others in the restaurant industry and wanted to take it to i higher level and do service without thinking about tips.

Also, I went to Law school as a Flight Attendant, and had a great career as an attorney. (I commuted from DCA to Denver for school and back flying trips out of mostly IAD on the weekends. but that's another story for another post), I'm now retired, but the only job I miss is being a Flight Attendant. How did it go

Just applied for a bilingual flight attendant position with United, so I am unsure if the process varies. After my application I received a link for an assessment. I completed the assessment to the best of my ability. Shortly thereafter I received an email from recruitment that I was not moving forward. I am currently in the hiring process for other airlines, and have passed all the assessments, and seem to do well with the interactive items. I found United's assessment to be much more generic, while leaving situational items more open to interpretation with minimal information provided to the applicant. What advice would you give to applicants considering starting a fresh and entirely new profile with airlines that they've been rejected by in the past? I'm wondering if seeing the number of times a candidate has been rejected creates a bias when recruiters review said candidate's existing profile

I understand that there are some airlines that don't pay for training, but too bad that it is unpaid. They need to realize that people are coming from different situations. Even it's not the full salary they should pay something. The stipend is not enough. You're working hard for them to be successful and to give our passengers the best experience. They should at least pay for training. Delta is one of them that does pay for training.

Hey I had online face interview for delta January I didn’t get the job when do you think I should apply again. I’ve heard from previous flight attendant applied more than once just to get hired when do you think I should apply ?

Hi, I am thinking about possibly becoming a flight attendant, and I saw 2 posistions on united airlines, one said italian speaker only, the other one said greek speaker only, does that mean you have to speak those languages? I am not able to speak other langages so if that means that you have to speak those languages I will have to wait until a english speaking one opens. I am currently studdying airport codes because I want to know them before training if I apply and make it that far as learning them is rather hard, but I think I can learn them at least for the tests.

Your passport has to have at least 18 months for United.

I got the email about I was not being considered at this time, and they said the applications would open up soon, and to re apply for the Flight Attention position when it does. I know and understand the 6 month rule, but then I read my email, it says to re apply when they open up again.

I actually edited the video.to take out the 6 month rule information. After listening to more feedback, I'm not sure what the UA policy is. Some candidates seem to have received letter that say they can apply the time it opens and others say 60 days. So just follow what your email says. And good luck!

I do not currently work for another airline, however I went to a f2f for delta and there were people there who currently worked for airlines. I would definitely wait to get a CTO before quitting your current job.

Flight Attendant schools are a waste of money and absolutely no guarantee you will get hired with United or any other airline. Also, you must have the legal right to work in the U.S.

They are not only hiring bilingual people. United just opened up their application for English speaking people a couple of months ago. They should be hiring again soon.

So United doesn't do video interviews anymore, they do in person in Houston or Denver that consist group activity and one on one interview

@@kindaouttaluck8410 STAR format questions, from my experience everything is computerized for the one on one. They type out your answer for the one on one Q&A, seems like it detects words that the company is looking for. For the group activity, your given a task to set up a beverage cart with a figure given, then will ask you a situational question as a group after setting up the Cart.
