Right this is why it’s a good thing you have a sister that went to school back in the day when they actually thought you well and teaches you how to study and get organized with your self now they just expect you to be organized my sister is very smart because she had to go thru some tough times when she was little and she got relaxed and calmed down while reading a book about Harry Potter and studying and being organized alway made her feel like she was accomplishing something so that’s why I think of it this way if you get organized your teachers won’t get mad or you want have problems with them and that will cause you less things to deal with and less things to deal with mean you have more time to think about how your going to study and finish homework or something like that and you want have to worry about having to do this part of homework and then this other part or sheet of paper because I didn’t finish it I would recommend you study or get organized right after school because your backpack is probably a mess right after school just because you stuff everything in there cause your in a hurry all I have to say is that life’s hard teachers are useless and it’s one human for themselves in this world 😐👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻yay

Btw if ur scrolling through, the actual video starts at around 6:20. the tips are: 1. Be around people who know what they are doing (people who are the best will help you) 2. Think of homework not as a chore, but as the easiest way to change your grade (so do it) 3. Actually work to learn, not just to do (don't cheat) 4. Have habits that actually work to help you finish (talk about homework so that you remember it) 5. Set out your day so that you have everything planned. (know what to do, when you do it, so that you can master your time and manage it) Hope this helped! Especially if watching a 15 minute video doesn't really help/ if you don't have time!

Maybe this advice will help someone: I also had school issues, but now I am doing way better. For me (A- student), homework is not something to increase your grades, but to keep them. In my opinion, everyone starts with an A in their class. It is your decision by everything that you don’t do, to let that grade slide or not. Remember, at the start of every class you already have an A. You have to do all the assignments to keep it. Someone told me that advice and it’s been very useful. Try to do all assignments and everything will be easier, I promise. But try to do them all. I hope this helps someone.

I remember myself 2 years ago, school's top student, hanging out with people who never cared about grades and it was horrible because I felt so bad for caring about stuff like that. Last year I cut them off and started being friends with the people that also cared about grades and I saw that it helped me not feel odd in my friend group. I think it was a great decision to switch friends.

My personal tips based on my experience Middle school: Try to limit your extracurricular activities. Unless you're really passionate about a sport, try not to join sports clubs, as they take up a lot of time and energy. When you get home exhausted, with your muscles all sore, it's hard to concentrate on studying or homework. However, don't be afraid to try new things. Middle school is where you should try to figure out your strengths and weaknesses academically, so you can focus on what kind of electives you want to take in High School. Otherwise, getting straight A's in Middle school shouldn't be too hard if you make sure to do all your homework and do some extra study for at least 1-2 hours a day. High school: Try to limit any drama and personal distractions. High school is when people's hormones just go through the roof, so it's no surprise that you see a lot of drama in social circles. By all means, go ahead and date and socialize, as it's an important part of your growth as a human being, but keep in mind that you shouldn't let that affect your studies. By now, you should have some idea what your strengths and weaknesses are. Pick electives that you know you'll enjoy and won't affect your GPA negatively. Also try to figure out what you want to do in college before senior year, as you'll have to choose certain electives and classes, and you don't want to play catch-up during your senior year. You should be increasing your study time from 1-2 hours to maybe 2-3 hours a day. Try not to burn out, but you should build up your endurance for college when it comes to studying. A lot of people can get straight A's in highschool by just cramming before a test, but you don't want to develop bad habits. College: You'll have to accept that you're on your own, now. Teachers won't call your parents when you skip classes. Your parents don't get sent report cards. There will be no one to keep you accountable, unless your professor is really invested in your academic career. You also have the chance to choose your teachers now. You're paying for your education, so choose carefully. Read academic reviews about your professors. If you get a bad feeling about a professor during your first day, cut your losses and withdraw from the class, while you can still get a 100% refund. A bad professor, or one with a teaching style that doesn't suit your learning style, can affect your GPA more than your actual academic proficiency. Make sure to look at your course syllabus/schedule if it's available. Make sure that important project dates and deadlines don't overlap. Use a spreadsheet or a calendar tool to determine if deadlines from the classes you want to take overlap. Even if you need to spend more time earning your degree, it's better to spread your courses out, so you don't burn out or risk endangering your GPA. Don't be in a hurry to join the workforce, unless your personal situation necessitates it. Even if you have to spend an extra year or so to earn your degree, it's better to keep your GPA stable. Go easy on the student loans.

I'm Asian and the reason I always get straight A's is because: 1) I want to be smart 2) I want to be noticed by teachers lol. If they call you out for being the best, the feeling of being proud is on a different level 3) for homework, when you finish a portion, think of it as the biggest achievement you've got and that if you keep completing portions, you can finish it. You do know that getting good grades at school doesn’t make you smart right. For you to be considered smart be a master of what you want to do be incredible at that. Jack of all trades but master of none is something you don’t want to fall into. Just by having good grades doesn’t prove how successful you are going to be. So yes get the best grades you can, but not for showing other people are smart but a means for you to get into something you love. That’s how it should be.

@@kaifali9157 People generalize others by how smart they are because of their grades. I wish it wasn't like that, but that's how it is for me. I use "smart" as an encouragement for me to complete my studies and even for some things I'm not interested at school. I've always been told to follow my dreams and interest. Maybe later on I wish I can focus all I want on something I'm interested in. Thanks for the advice though.

I’ll say that overall, my grades have always been great but I’m watching this and writing this out because I know that there’s always room to improve. I’ve always thought of studying specifically as a chore but this year, I’ll try to think of studying as an opportunity to learn and get better at a certain concept. Wish me luck! I started dating this really really really smart A student who took AP classes that I wasn’t even in. In middle school I got 4 F’s and Ds, max grade was C. But now that I started dating him and he would ask me everyday, “what are your plans for the day?”, “today I will do a project for my AP Chem class.”, “if you need help with Chem or Geometry, be sure to text me” Now I have ALL A’s. I know I’m a bit late, since I wasted my first year of highschool. Just those questions everyday (and the fact that he would take hours to do homework, making me want to do homework so I would have time to hang out) made me want to do it, because I didn’t wanna lie to him or anything. Now I’m very passionate in my grades, even hitting the desk when I get a 90% or below on a test. I do my homework everyday, unlike middle school where I NEVER did homework. This one boy changed my educational life forever.

I find your advice very true because before, I used to be in love with school and learning; ultimately finding it so fascinating. Then suddenly, I switched schools and everyone in my class hated learning so I felt like an outcast for loving it. I started to invest my time in other things instead of studying like before just so I would be able to hold conversations with my classmates. (A whole personality change really.) I’m quite proud to say that my grades are still at their best but the difference is, the procrastination habits that I have developed are now my biggest weakness when it comes to school. I’m always anxious while doing my assignments late at night a day or two before it’s due. My sleep schedule is messed up, causing me to have slight, sometimes severe, headaches. I remember a time where I almost fainted while trying to get a glass of water before going back to finish my work. So for anyone reading this I can’t stress it enough: do what you want for yourself. Make friends that want you to do the best for yourself, that don’t complain, and that are hard working and optimistic. Trust me. As the school year is about to start for me, I recently found my love for learning again through one of my close friends. She was in that same class I switched to with all the school haters, but I only realized her similar dedication for learning years later. We went to a math academy together this summer and today was our last day. I’m slowly gaining lost pieces of myself and I’m so so grateful for her. Sorry for the paragraph or 2.

Those are all excellent points. In middle school I never did the work and my grades reflected it. When I got to Highschool though, I changed my habit’s. I now have a 4.0 gpa. I did basically all of these things. The only thing I would add to this is take responsibility for your actions. Don’t blame the teacher for your bad grades if you did not study.

Nah bro it ain’t trading your youth, and u don’t have to trade your learning time since that’s time is in school. I’d even argue it’s the opposite. I get my work done during school do my hw done right after. Come 3:30 pm I ain’t got crap to think about for school.-- i would say be attached to the present enjoy every second of it, appreciate what u do at any givin time. Appreciate learning in school, appreciate walking home or your ride home, appreciate being around your family and friends. Always be in the moment. Then u realize you have more time than you may have initially expected -more important u realize u have it easy as a high school middle school your only real responsibility is learning and making friends and even play sports - it will never get any easier than that and of course there’s also people that don’t have the privilege so take advantage of your own
