True story. I love fireworks so much I spent months in World of Warcraft collecting the mats to put on a 45 minute firework display consisting of 2700 shells. I told this story once in front of someone, who unknown to me, ran a real pyro crew. He just had one of his members quit that morning because he got a new job. I was offered the empty position. Best job ever.

I am still doing it. The company I worked for got bought out by the company that has contract to do the 4th of July in my hometown and Next year I get to do them for my hometown. It's been my bucket list show for years. Not the biggest or fanciest show but it is where I 1st got the passion to do it. 😁😁

This year my mom my brother and my daughter got to go on site and get a closer look at what I did for the show and how they're put together. They had no idea just how big and powerful they are compared to even the biggest consumer fireworks. My daughter has the bug in her now and one day will work as a pyro too.

Really. Is it because they look technical or just one of the important people doing the show? I thought it was interesting. But the helpers are just helpers. So that depends which one you want.

I REALLY LOVE THE SCIENCE BEHIND FIREWORKS AS MUCH AS I ENJOY WATCHING THEM IT WOULD BE A DREAM OF MINE TO BE APART OF A BEAUTIFUL PROFESSIONAL DISPLAY!

Ready to hang up the consumer 1.4 pyro hat and start working for the 1.3 pyro hat. Can only dream of putting on shows to make money instead of spending a small fortune to put on my own!

👍😊👍I wish I were a young man again. When I was a kid, being a pyrotechnician seemed as cool (and as likely) as being a rock star! I became a diesel mechanic, So at least I'm still around things that make loud noises, LOL. Now that PA legalized consumer aerials, I can at least now "play" at being a "pyro", LOL.

We all felt that way when we were kids! We can tell you that the cheer of the crowd (just like a rockstar!) is always the amazing finale after the finale for us that makes all the hard work worth it, knowing that you provided joy for so many people. @@PyroInnovations Fireworks and Rock and roll are my two favorite things to enjoy live. Even at 60 years old, I'm digging the "shows". Feel the sound, see the sights. WAY better than some CGI movie! I need to feel the power and the "boom" 👍☺️👍

What is used to seal the ends of large firecrackers, not cardboard but some kind of epoxy...used to live by United Fireworks in Dayton Ohio and they were plugged with some kind of epoxy gel...just curious

So if i do the online course is that like a sort of application? Tired of people telling me i need to get a job as a pyro every year and actually would like to see what it involves. Im in arizona

Hi Shane, yes and no. Yes, we require our new folks to go through the online training before starting their field training; and no because there is a form you fill out as step one. Also keep in mind that we are based in CA, so it will be a lot more convenient for you if you find a company in AZ to work with. Because of Covid we don’t have any show happening right now to train on, so it will likely be some time before apprenticing becomes a reality again. Hope you had a safe and happy 4th of July!

What is cheaper buying a cake or buy canister shells and make your own cake? In PA 500 grams cakes cost around 150 to 250 each 1

You are paying too much. Fireworks are a scam if you buy retail without hitting sales that stores have. go to americanwholesalefireworks.com/, www.76fireworks.com/ or www.starspanglednovelties.com/ and have cases shipped to your house. Although inventories are low right now. Also you can go to pyroboom.com and buy tubes to make canister shell cakes or buy prebuilt ones. I just put 25 tubes in a milk crate so, if you are getting mortars at $2-5$ a shot then 1 crate is $50-$75 fully loaded.

how the hell would someone apply to be a pyrotechnician? i was EOD in iraq in 2003-2004 and i guess i never got it out of my blood. i want to fly around on the iron maiden plane and set their stuff up.

Mahalo's. I live in Hawaii and I have the love of the loudest bang here. Lol it sounds funny. But ever since I was 10 I used to hang out in the fireworks both and pretend that I use to sell fireworks. Lol I was a kid who love the sound of the booom and the rips from the fireworks. And still till this day I'm obsessed with the boom and rips. Here is illegal for those. But I have a hope to be a pyrotech now. Thank you for the video.
