Hello everyone, I want to be a kpop idol I listen to a lot of kpop songs and I want to have a group and be a part of them. I am from Turkey, now I am 15 years old. I know English but I don't know Korean. I won't be for that because I need Korean for the audition. There are no courses where I live and it is impossible for me to learn at home. You do not need to know Korean to audition. If you have access to internet and the web you can learn at least a bit of Korean. Just because you CURRENTLY don’t know Korean doesn’t mean you can’t be a Kpop artist. Whoever told you that is praying on ur downfall. MANY Kpop idols didn’t know Hangul (Korean) until studying in Korea. It’s dumb to give up for that reason

As someone who is currently in one of said company’s and passed auditions I can tell you that yes skill matters but most company’s will choose you based on your: 1 - potential 2 - what you had prepared and how well you know your foundations (proper breathing for singing, proper posture for singing, basic dance skills, basic rapping techniques, etc) in Korea there is a saying for ppl who dontnknow the basics and often most judges will imiditly cut you if you do not know them for your specific category you are auditioning for. 3 - your Charisma and how you present yourself 4 - if you are a blank slate they can put into any concept / fluidity

I prefer you to start making yt shorts it's totally fine if you want to keep your face and identify hidden...you can just blur your face or dance in dim light beacuse many do that and outcome is wonderful

Music is is a natural talent but can come from practicing... basically things like pitch identification and ear training.. alot of people already have it without practicing and it's one of the types in the 9 types of intelligence..

I'm a ballet danser for now 7years, and in 3 years I will finish high school. I'm into a burnout 'cause of overworking, eating troubles and depression. I've been wanting to become an idol for 3y, and I told my parents last y. From my most young age, i wanted to be a dancer, and then I met kpop. I'm in love with it. I can't love anything as much as this, I can leave everything I've built in the past years to do it. My mom don't take it srsly, and my brother told me that it was cultural appropriation. I don't feel like it is ...I respect this cultur, and always been passionated about it, even before kpop ! If i can't make it now, I will do it later. Cause I want it. But I'm afraid and extremely sad, and I start to doubt if I'm in right to want this...

Try to learn hip hop dance. It may be troublesome at first but keep going! It’s fine as long as you don’t think of yourself as being Korean when you’re not. Love and respect Korea’s culture and you’ll be fine. Your family not supporting you must be hard. Try to stay positive and take breaks if needed for your mental health. 1:23 Koreans don't hate K-pop idols who have different skin colors from them. However, in past k-pop was a genre created for Koreans in the first place, and Koreans are not familiar with foreigners, so they feel awkard to idols with different skin colors. But hating and feeling awkward are completely different feelings. Rather, if idols of different skin colors have excellent skills and attitudes, they will be treated better than idols from Korea. However, no matter how similar an idol's skin color is, if he continues to be rude and deceives the public, he will be kicked out of the industry immediately. A representative example is Korean idols from China.

Quite true, if you can’t practice young, just keep a open and growth mindset of practicing, it’s going to be harder as a idol. I am glad I know how to take care of myself and really good at singing and dancing also English raps, took choir and dance club in middle school and just loved it so much I do it at school and people like it or don’t mind lol, always have confidence and just yes. All I need to do is learn Korean and learn how to dance even better and maybe mor languages like Japanese and Spanish if I master Korean cuz then I can rap and song even better in Korean and understand things. This is all BS. I auditioned for SM entertainment in California during their global search and I also applied to many more companies. I was told that I was a very talented dancer but that I was not Asian enough to match their look as I am caucasian. I mean it’s reasonable and the only non-asian K-pop idol known is in Black Swan hopefully one day they become more open and accepting but for now I seriously recommend if you are not Asian in any aspect to follow your dreams in a different Avenue. I genuinely wish I had. Remember it’s not just talent that matters it’s the way you look, and the way you present yourself, and the way you match their standard.

not invalidating your experience in any way... but it's SM. I'm black and auditioning, and I know not to audition for any of the big three. ESPECIALLY SM. They won't easily change their concept because they got popular because of it. Try out smaller companies if you're still willing. And yes, I've passed an audition before. It's not like you CAN'T, it's just a lot harder as a westerner

I was doing this when I was 15 through 18 years old and now I’m 27 so this was quite a long time ago before K-pop was even popular in the US so I think at the time they were even stricter on their criteria of the look they wanted. I hope they expand upon the type of people they create groups with but I think you’re right that the bigger companies aren’t quite ready for that so auditioning for smaller companies is also great. I auditioned for cube, pledis, ect as well but like I said this was 10 years ago. So im too old to even attempt anything anymore I wholeheartedly hope that you reach the goal you are working towards and I hope you can help change the industry for the better💞💞💞

You're only 18 and you shouldn't feel that kind of despair. Of course, people may have difficulties in life according to their age, but the ordeal of your age is only a small happening compared to the ordeal of the rest of your life. Keep your mind strong. To pass and audition from singing is hard. Unless you’re really good or have a unique likable singing voice you may not make it. Try and develop your other skills as well. Best of luck ❤

@@ashoktiwari5985 Actually I also have great interest on kpop....and I wish I become a successful kpop idol...but my age is 15...and I can't and also my parents don't allow me and I am not dancer or singer but I am doing good as my friends said me that you do so well like an idol and also nearby my area no trainer is available....so that's I can't...my dream will be remain dream...so hurtful for me....😢😭 AND whenever I listen that people of India want to do kpop...I feel so good😌😊..that's why I ask...♥️ And your age is perfect so apply for it dear ☺👍 and also tell me the result

My entire family wantd me to be a kpop idol because they once caught me singing and dancing st the same time. I had a pretty stabile voice which is hard to have while dancing. Wish me luck 사랑해요~

After reaching age 14 you usually don’t need your parents consent. Though do try and get their permission and support. Good luck ❤

Wow......I'm a very good dancer like a higher intermediate dancer and I can also rap....I've been trying online auditions but I never got feedback......Also if I get accepted online and they want to do an in-person audition.....what If I don't have money to go to Korea...will they pay for it??? I'm really curious to know

If you are talented if it's a big company they will pay for you but if you are young you can go with your parent they will pay for it and you go Korea and you didn't pass the auditions you have to pay to fly back home

I like kpop but I don't think it's for me. I've thought about it a lot. But I'm Belgian, I'm fat, I don't speak Korean but a bit of English and I don't think I can do it. I don't have confidence in myself because of my body, but I'm trying to improve. I can sing a little bit and I started modern dance at the age of 8, I stopped at 10. From the age of 10 I started ballet and now I have stopped because I saw that it was not for me. I know that it is impossible to become what I want because my parents always tell me that you can only become a Kpop idol if you are of Korean origin. I don't know what I want to be but what I do know is that I can never be what I want to be. I am an honest person, who always tries my best and doesn't give up so easily. I always wanted to play the piano but I couldn't, so yes, I loved music even then. I also like poetry a lot and people tell me that I have talent in that area. I want to experiment and make mistakes. To think that this is the right path when fate knows it is lost. I hope that life will lead me to the right path.

I’d say maybe for YG your chances are lower. But probably not for Jype. And since YG and JYPE hold monthly auditions, yes you can re-audition the next month. For some other companies you cannot. Unless you have the type of voice they’re looking for, are a really good singer, or have a unique likable singing voice, you won’t pass. Id say singing is probably the hardest to pass with because it can be something you have to born with. If you can clearly and quickly speak out words then try for rap. I’d say you have more of a chance of Rap in YG. For rapping you still have to learn to compose and follow the music/beat. Dancing may be the easiest to develop if you are not naturally talented. But you have to practice A LOT. It will be physically draining. If you audition for dance then dance to a more powerful song. If you choose a Kpop girl group song, don’t choose an easy dance. For example, choosing an IVE song won’t show your skills as much as choosing an ITZY song. Guy group dances tend to be more powerful than girl groups. Or make your own choreo/freestyle if you think you can. Or don’t choose a Kpop song and instead a popular pop song. Best of wishes ❤

@@justsimplebreakawayI’m not sure about a rap songs but for dance I can think of some. I know people have passed auditions with Dalla Dalla by ITZY. Or you can do popular pop songs. If you have a specific style of dance you know (ex: ballet, popping, pointing, etc) then try and find music or beats to go with that style of dance. If you’re developing hip hop dance then try and find pop type of songs and beats. When dancing make sure you choose a song that will show your strengths. If you’re a more smooth type of dancer, look for choreo which requires you to have a smooth look. If you’re better at locking/popping, go for that type of choreo. Also learn to freestyle. In later auditions companies usually make you freestyle to a popular pop song of their choice.

@@justsimplebreakaway I think on YG monthly auditions they let you choose two categories to audition with. So you can do both your singing and rapping. Try and learn to freestyle rap if possible. But don’t be let down if it doesn’t work ❤❤ I don’t see people auditioning with rapping (because most companies don’t focus on it as much as singing or dancing) these days so it’s hard to say which song choice would be right.

My dream is to be a K-pop Idol, or a popstar. I am not Korean but I still have a chance right?! I am still a young teen, and I am in theatre at my school. At my school theatre is 7-12th grade and I have had some supporting roles already in my 2 years of it. I also have been singing and acting from about age 9, and I practice singing every day. I'm not very good at dancing, but I'm learning. I also don't know much Korean and so I'm trying to learn that. I hope one day I can accomplish my dreams!

Hello Sneha, I understand why you and others want to become Famous and be well-known by society. But they only explain the pretty side of being famous, which is eating the best food, wearing expensive clothes, and having anything you want. But they never explain the dark and sinister side of being famous. Many young people will join in an instant because they see their idol on TV or their phone and how they "Look happy" but they feel miserable and empty. You have to understand that many companies force them to say things that they don't want to say. They are more of a slave than a human being. It's sad because you can even see it in their eyes how they lost part of their soul, I have noticed this in many groups. Many sell their own soul for money and fame to Satan, they sign a contract with blood with Satan. Many celebrities have said so themselves in songs and interviews. Actress Melissa Ford once stated in an interview "if your ultimate goal is to be famous, then your going to do a lot to get there, like sign your name in blood in a contract with the Devil". They know they serve the Devil and they are instructed to destroy God's word and lead the children of God astray. Be careful and do your research. Be more smart.

I also give audition in the age of 14 And now I passed both rounds If you're giving audition in cube So you have to be average in dance Below average in Vocals And average in Rap Visual doesn't really matter Best of luck You can be a kpop idol or trannie
