Very good video I would say that only power BI its the way, excel for basicts of working with tables and fomulae building with some basics of power query to get data on the own excel file table and external for fun. like using dax to join multiple identical tables into one table and do pivot from it. like every year accounting keep a file with 52 sheets cuntining the weekly sales of x company u need to join all those 53 sheet into one table and do a excel report, for that u need to know power query. Any big enough company that has a data team will have data eng and SQL devs and someone responsible to put the data together into power bi data sets that u just link to and work from no need to know SQL at alll

Hello brother, Thank you for your presentation, you are an Educator. Your video was very helpful to me. I have been really going the wrong direction, but your video have redirected my path to the right lane. I have SQL and Power BI Basics already; but didn't truly understand that I had something to improve on. I can now start practicing 2 hours a day. I also got Advance skill in Excel at the Power query level. I have been really giving myself headache on wanting to learning all the Skills ( Python, Tableau, R et al)😅😅 .

I attended the first DA interview. They required two skills - SQL & PBI. I thought they would be impressed with my overall preparation in all the other skills that you mentioned as optional. To master all jacks, I forgot some basic PBI questions answers, and the interviewer said he agrees I am good in SQL but not in PBI. He was somewhat correct because I didn't have any portfolio and importantly, I didn't revise the PBI topics for an interview at all. Therefore, I failed to prove my 1-year preparation although I haven't heard back yet. I believe the importance of your advice everyone will realize after attending a couple of interviews. If I knew this I would have landed an entry-level analyst position already. Thank you so much brother for your valuable advice.

@@jacksparrow3595 I did some fundamental udemy courses. They are not good enough for the interview. Take some Dax courses once you are comfortable with the fundamentals.

For a fresher who wants to enter in data analyst field is it important to showcase live projects in resume or we can go with any datasets projects which is available on various youtube platforms.

For me power query editor replaces sql. You can create any type of query that you want using gui instead of typing code. Also, with power bi you can connect to any data source and pull tables that you need.

You are 100% correct. 80% company data problem can be solved with Excel powerquery, powerbi and sql

Consider Knime as well, it's an amazing open source tool for analytics! It's a visual workflow tool, with different connectors for DBs, as well as options to write Python / Java code in it as well

Hi, Taufiq. I have few questions? 1. How to show my tableau, powerbi, excel project? I meant How do I show recruiter my powerbi and tableau projects. 2. Do my project need to be an end-to-end project where I should be using a single dataset showing data manipulation using SQL and then exporting it to tableau or power bi for creating the dashboard. Is it okay to have SQL project, tableau, and power bi project different from one another? 3. I have difficulties solving complex SQL queries. I need a lot of time to solve complex queries. In beginner-level role, how much complex queries I need to prepare for interview. Do interviewers ask complex queries to solve in the live interviews or give complex queries as tasks or assignments to solve? 4. how do I know I am ready to sit for power bi and tableau interviews? If you already have experience as developer then it’s much easier to become a data analyst.. I would say you follow the steps I mentioned in this video and you should be in pretty good position to become a DA
