I’ve been turned down by Image comics 5 times already. They said the art is great but my work was not ideal for their catalog. 😓🤷🏻‍♂️

I think it’s important to make original Characters not just recreations for a portfolio. $100 if you are a professional skill level is extremely low for a cover. Cool to see you getting into comic art more!

Im so proud of you dr rocke and everynight before i sleep i watch your vids and i wake up i take a sip of my coffee and guess whats next... Drawing comic characters and this is incredible and i just want to ask what happen to a drawing if you dont know how to shadow it and pls make a tutorial how to shadow muscles i know how to shadow and shading but i struggle on muscles cuz it has a shapenon his own like the legs it has like an inflated muscle so i dont know how the light behaves on it im so sorry i just want to learn and be a comic book artist one day like you in just 12 years old

I work in video games, not comics, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. But it seems to me that it would be really hard to break into the comic industry as a cover artist. The way I understand it, cover artist is considered a senior position, and junior artists will usually get to work on interior pages for a number of years until they have earned their stripes and get to do cover art. That said, if you can get your skills up to the level of the comic book greats, anything could happen, I suppose! XD

I totally agree and even say that in my video. That’s the way it usually works. But like I said, at least as it is in my life right now, I would not be able to bring up the time for doing interior work.
