Let me tell you this. You are by far the best productivity/self help etc. youtuber out there. You actually cite studies and science for every claim you make which is amazing, and base your tips on science and a bit of personal anecdotes rather than all anecdotes like so many do. You then make the videos enjoyable to watch, and fairly short. And it's all free. Thank you for the content, one complaint: You don't give us enough content, your content is so good we need more .

I've found that doing the Pomodoro method has been life changing in the way i study, it has seriously helped me so much to be more productive.
What I find difficult with regards to medical school and 3rd year specifically is that we are given very little time to be actual human beings / enjoy our life with our significant other / friends. After a 10-12 hour shift in clinic it is not a matter of procrastinating when coming back home but giving your brain the rest it needs so you can be 100% concentrated on a set of practice questions. I think this involves reshaping the entire medical school curriculum and mentality of "grinding" but this is of course a conversation for another day. Would be interested to hear both of your thoughts on this.

Ahah yea some rotations suck away your life more than others. But that’s what we willingly signed up for lol. It gets a little better after residency, and attending life you get to be human again
I would like to add, that negative limiting beliefs, like "if it takes me too much time to learn that means I'm dumb" can also manifest procrastination, and neutralising this kind of resistance also brings joy, because we really can sit down and enjoy it!

I’m always like “I’m gonna do this” the day before and then when it comes I’m like “I don’t have the energy, I can do it tomorrow” the cycle then continues
Part of this is the willingness to feel the pressure. Yes, it is uncomfortable and unappealing, but if done right, it can refine you like gold. You just have to be willing ig

I really need this video omg… My productivity is improving for the last weeks but then procrastination hits me again and I’m back to square one. It’s frustrating to be honest.
To me there’s no one in this world who doesn’t procrastinate. We all do that at some point. Some ppl procrastinate on their jobs, study, I guess because the given assignments are very overwhelming and difficult 😥
You guys are doing very good content, i am learning english with your videos, and definitively i am learning a lot about studying and productivity, thank you so much
Practice questions are the most fun part of it for me. Leading up to the Practice questions is when it gets boring

The 2 minute rule sounds incredibly helpful, especially to modify large pieces of text (which I need to study currently) into shorter sentences. I really needed this reminder because I was having so many mental breakdowns today from the stress of not being able to just sit down and stay focused. If I tried to read one paragraph from my class notes I just get so overwhelmed and want to quit, even if that paragraph seems short. I realise now that breaking things down into even simpler steps can help immensely. Thank you so much :)

I realised another tip, which I hope I'll remember to implement more; if you find that there is a huge chunk of information on a page but you want to focus on just one sentence, it helps to cover the rest of the text with a piece of paper.
It took me a few days to finish watching this. I hope to try some of these tips at some point in the future.

The problem is, I can't seem to focus when I know I'm doing school work early. It's like I rely on how long I have in order to have a good idea. And when I do start early, I end up changing my ideas for designs and topics which again, I don't know why!

i learned about this recently in my cog psych class (which i have a test to begin in 6 mins lol). students believe cramming makes them feel like they are doing hard work but its an illusions. you actually retain the material better if you space your time studying and also study less. so instead of studying 8 hrs 1 day before your test. Study for 1-2hrs over a span of 5 days before the test. trust me, it is way better this way. try it out and get back to me on how you felt doing it that way.
I will watch this video next time.
If you don't study now you will need to retake it regardless, so its better to do it now than never. Does it help?

Which spaced repetition is best if I work best with games or colorful quizzes etc. I keep trying unsuccessfully to setup and use Anki. The interface is black and white, not fun and desired cards take awhile to reappear. I’m on a quarter system and to review more often for regular weekly exams, nplex etc. Subjects include medical genetics, biochemistry, anatomy head/neck and neuroanatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology etc
