How to Bead Embroider a Picot Edge

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

beadaholique.com/collections/... - Learn how to add a decorative picot edge to bead embroidery. This finishing touch hides the area where you foundation and backing meet and allows you to beautifully stitch the two layers together. You can also use simply as a decorative element. I am so excited to do these! My picots seem to have a mind of their own sometimes but I think this might just work for the sandwiching so the white material does not show. I do plan to dye mine the same color as the leather. LOVE your vids!

    Very clear tutorial .. i have question regarding bezeling .. when i do only backstitch around stone and when i should do beyote around stone .. some people do only layers of back stitch and others add beyote .. does it depend on dome of stone?

  • @beadaholique

    @beadaholique

    3 ай бұрын

    Yes, it depends on how high the top of the stone is and how inset you want it to appear. Part of it is also just personal preference and what look you like best.

    how do you hide the stitches you made by adding the picot what type glue and how to hide the edges .please i want a really nice finished edge.???? thank you catherine

    The picot edge covers up the last row of backstitch's outer stitches. You will see some thread no matter what, so make sure to use a thread that matches your beads. You would not use any glue in this part of the process.

    You are an excellent teacher - love this video - thank you!! I have a question though - when you're inserting the needle the first time, it looks like you're putting it behind the first row of beads and then putting the needle down thru the outer edge from there - is that right?

    Hello Beadaholique- there is a easier way to the picot stitch. I'm not trying to be mean but you made that seem so confusing. Just saying. I Have been beading ever since I was 8yrs old and i'm now 23yrs old now but yeah there is easier way.
