This is a great video! I'm 27 and I've been on my own since I was 17. I worked full time then, put myself through private school. I've been working since I was 13... I'm currently owning 2 businesses, working full time at a day job and pursuing my law degree, all while being a full time single mom! I have only enough time to dedicate to my church... It's crazy that I'm able to do it! Thanks for this post, my success will pay off! :)

Hi Sweet Mimi, I have had a very hard life myself and I think the more bitter you have in life the more you appreciate the sweet. I also worked in Co-Op program while I was in High School and prior to that I worked as a child from age about 8 till this day. It taught me to be self sufficient and responsible. My parents especially my Dad came to the US from Italy and he didn't even speak English he had to work and learn himself and it was very very hard. I also grew up with very little but to be honest I truly didn't even know that I missing out on a lot of material items. We made our own fun at home watching movies on TV and me and my Daddy would do stuff together like wash the car, I would watch him cook. These memories and if you want to call them hard times make us all who we are today at this moment. I also think it makes you really appreciate your health and happiness. I know how hard you work Mimi & Alex and your parents and Leyla also. You are all fearless and when you are fearless and live life that is when you are truly living. Love you and your family so much xoxo. (hope you don't think I am some weirdo person) but I do feel love for all of you. Lucille

I just want to thank you for your words of encouragement and being so willing to share your wisdom and ideals to help those around you that might be struggling. I can honestly say that I was sitting on the couch feeling sorry for myself wishing my life was like somebody else's and then I stumble across your video. About halfway through the video I immediately jumped off the couch, went to my room to pull out a pen, notepad, and my laptop so that I could take notes towards changing my life today. Your words have definitely helped me, and I know I'm not the only one. Thank you!

Finally I realized that you worked hard as everyone here. Watching youtube videos makes us just forgeting that youtubeuses are human like all of us and have a life with ups and downs. I also believe that this video will help a lot of people don't idealize too much youtubeuses and to motivate themselves to achieve their dreams. You officialy become a model for me and i really appreciate this videos. You're a great person.

Hi Mimi ! I'm really grateful for having have discovered you from your tutorial videos ! I've never had any people I've looked up to in my life before but now it's you ! I just never liked the idea of looking up to "popular people" like celebrities because I never know how they became to be the way they are. You are very open about yourself, quite down to earth and practical. I look up to you because you make me feel like you are a human being just like me too ! It makes me happy that the way we process our thoughts seem very similar. And you show us it's possible to be beautiful without having have to be victims of the beauty industry. When I feel all emo and down I just look up to you and I feel better immediately. Because when I look at you I realise that my life is not wrong and this is part of the hustling. I hope you keep existing as a great mentor so I could look up to you constantly. I hope my words of gratitude reach you and make you feel great ! :D I have named my newborn kitten after you Mimi !

Thank you for reminding us that focusing on oneself, rather than getting depressed over someone else's "success", is the key for actual success. We tend to get so sucked into today's luxuries that we forget what it takes to actually obtain them! Your story is inspiring beyond words. Hands down, the most inspirational video. I'm at a point in my life where things are not really working out for me. This video just reminded me of the essence of happiness and "success" - plain hard work! I love how you also hit on the theme of "patience" and how it took you several years to get to where you are today. My biggest flaw is being discouraged when thing don't "fix up" quickly in my direction and I throw in the towel rather too soon. Your video is yet another reminder that giving up too fast is the worst decision any person can do. Bottom line, amazing video, amazing story, amazing soul. Thank you for sharing that! x

I really needed it & appreciate your thoughts very much in this powerful message. It struck me because it reminded me again that I always have had the power. I love that quote you mention, heard it from Marianne Williamson from a session in a Course In Miracles. You have a super nice taste, super nice clothes & a super nice personality but what I love & appreciate the most is your transparency & that you remain humble. Gracias Mimi Ikonn! I am going to show this video to my friends, especially those who feel stuck & need to hear the message. I'm feeling grateful for you. ;) I send you much love & many hugs. Like minded people gather to share conversations that really matter. - Oprah Everything that is made proves that it was once just imagined. This is so on point, I can't even handle myself right now. Lately, I've been feeling kind od stuck, overall in every aspect of my life, with zero motivation. And THIS is word by word the kick in the butt I needed! I wish I had somebody following me around and screaming all of this at me each time I get in my ''I can't'' mood. I love how you deliver the 'ugly truth' in a way that inspires me (and others)! Also, the sentence ''I have to constantly stay disciplined, to be 'lucky' '' just might be my favourite thing of all time.

Your stories of your life rings loudly and almost mirrors my struggles with school, finances, choices, fatigue and the daunting question of what's next? Thank you for the inspiration in the form of a silent reminder that "it gets better" and "it wont always be like this." I find myself being a subconscious pessimist and that's a divergent from who I truly am, but at times life is life, and work needs to be done to realize that it's OK to be upset or mad, but how we do and which path we walk will ultimately create the outcome we're looking for. Thank you! I appreciate these videos.

This was a fantastic video. I am proud to say that I am 23 years old and have just bought my first house. I have graduated University and have a wonderful well paying job that I love. People always tell me how "lucky" I am and how "easy" it is for me and it couldn't be further from the truth. While they were out procrastinating and viewing their 20's as a freebie I was HUSTLING. Working and going to school full-time, taking extra courses to become a yoga teacher, constantly trying to better myself by reading inspirational books and doing some real soul searching. I have not wasted a single moment and yes I was exhausted, yes it was difficult and yes I still need to work very hard every single day but it is worth it and it sure as hell isn't luck. You create your own world and the sooner you realize it the better (and harder!) it will be.

Mimi, when you said people don't want to see the day-to-day stuff, and they only want to see photos of you dressing up and having fun, etc., I actually think people would love to see more of what you do on a daily basis with your business- what goes into making a deal, how you go about networking, etc. I wish more shows would focus on what goes into the work, and not just the resulting lifestyle. Like the Real Housewives- I liked them more during the earlier seasons when the focus was more on what the women did for a living and not just all the drama.

Thx a lot, Mimi, you are right. I was full of self pity.. N resistance n not daring to come out of my comfort zone. Today after listening to you, I promise to change. Best wishes.

I added this to my favorites because I never want to give in to self pity again. I'm going to watch this video when I feel like I'm miserable or like everyone is better than me. Thanks Mimi. You made me realize that with a strong mentality, that I CAN achieve my ambitions and I can be successful if I allow myself. Thanks again.

Hearing your thoughts on hustling and all the hard work you put in to become the person you are today (and continue to put in) is super inspiring! Would love to see some Instagram posts of your workstation while your emailing and planning, because those can be positive and inspiring as well! Thanks so much for sharing.

GREAT video, thank you so much!! Its true when you say that we have to stop feeling sorry for ourselves, I always end up doing that and complain about how miserable I am and that everything sucks in life, and it pulls you down to a hard depression and I am still trying to recover from it. I now see that there is nobody that can help you but yourself those moment you just sit down and wait for a mriacle to happen or wait for somebody that will suddenly come and help you.
