Good tips, Jeven! I've started off on youtube last year, January. Sat down and thought about some ideas for creating and how i could show my skills of editing in a way that noone had seen before. And i had a lot of success, simply by using the ideas and tips you just mentioned in your video. And this year, i have my own business and work as a full time content creator. Good explanation, watched the whole video because you deserve it! :)

Jeven - thanks for this video! I've enjoyed your content and have definitely gained some inspiration from your videos. I'm always looking to improve and grow and these were definitely some good tips for me moving forward this year. You did mention that a variety channel is not going to grow, but I feel like that is my thing: I have a show called "how to be OK at everything". The idea is to introduce people to all kinds of things and give them a nudge to try it out - knowing they might not be great at it at first. Try it, start by being OK, then grow from there if you like it. I don't know whether it'll work, but I've enjoyed it and it seems most people I've received feedback from like the concept. I guess I'll just keep going and eventually will find what works and what doesn't. Thanks again - keep it up!

Jeven, excellent tips! My channel happened upon a hot topic early on, and I stayed in that vein until it started to run dry and I announced I was no longer covering that topic and things became a bit rough. I'm having lots of trouble figuring out what I want my channel to be about, within my niche. I'm also about 200 videos in and I just feel lost right now. My approach is all over the place as I'm looking for anything that gets attention. I think I'm going about this in the wrong way.....might need to start over in a sense. Again, thanks for the tips!

My word is Courage. I apply my word of the year to my life, across the board. With creating, for example, I’ve put off getting started because I’m scared! There’s so much to learn, what if I make stuff no one wants, and it’s all public! AHHH!!! I know to just take one thing at a time and do it! So, the word Courage allows me to acknowledge my fears while also basically taking myself by the hand and saying, “It’s ok to feel what you feel... and let’s step into it, together.” Courage. 🥰

I was super distracted by the inch worm on your shirt near the beginning of the video! 😂 I had been putting out 1-3 videos per week for 5 years and last year I hit that burnout wall and I scaled back to 1 video per week, niched down to travel only and stopped doing weekly "daily life" vlogs. If anything it's helped the channel and it certainly hasn't hurt it. Now I'm trying to focus on creating more evergreen content and creating videos using footage I already have put together in a different way with new voice over. For example I just put together a top 10 things to do in a location in the winter/rainy weather using footage I already had. It's doing well - yes still a lot of work involved but it should be a video that will get views every year near and during the winter. I think travel vlogs keep our subscribers happy, but evergreen/travel tip videos bring in new subscribers. Trying to find that balance this year.
