Topical Authority and Semantic SEO, Conversion Rate Optimization, E-A-T, and Semantic Search are highly relevant. Topical Authority, topical coverage, and historical data create a factuality, and accuracy trust for a website in the eyes of a search engine. But, having too many similar websites for a specific topic creates a high-level of quality difference, while making the search engines more picky. Thus, a website can be shadowed by another. The challenge for search engine optimization professionals is balancing the need for better rankings with the need to maintain a competitive edge. The best way to achieve these goals is by understanding the dynamics of search engine algorithms, and using that information to build a comprehensive SEO strategy.
When it comes to SEO, there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
What is Topical Authority?
Topical Authority is a method and concept for search engine optimization to achieve better rankings and organic search visibility. Topical authority is acquired by providing high-level of information and knowledge for a topic by convincing the search engine that the source is highly relevant to an important topic. The topical authority is a concept from semantic SEO, but it is different from topical relevance, or topical depth and topic clusters. Topical authority is measured via topical coverage and the historical data of the website for a given topic. A website covers topics more and longer, it means it has a better topical authority. Topical authority is a concept for measuring the website's rankability for a specific topic. Google didn't announce the topical authority as an SEO concept, but they use the concepts like domain experts, or knowledge domain leaders in their research papers and patents.
What Contributes to Topical Authority?
Topical authority is a measure of how authoritative and knowledgeable a website is considered to be on a given topic.
According to Google, "topical authority is determined by a website's coverage of the most important and relevant topics for a given query." In other words, a website with a lot of content on digital marketing will be considered more authoritative on the topic than a website with only a few articles.
How Do We Achieve Topical Authority?
One approach to achieving topical authority is through keyword optimization.
But it's not the only way. We can also create high-quality content that's relevant to the topic. In conclusion, topical optimization is a way to improve the authority of a website on a given topic. It's achieved by creating high-quality content that's relevant to the topic, and by optimizing around keywords.
How Topical Authority Helps You Rank Higher?
Topical Authority helps a website to achieve greater rankings by providing relevance for overall query network to increase the Information Retrieval score, and query responsiveness. Sub-site retrieval and topic distillation are relevant things to each other, in terms of topical authority.

Thanks for the update. Great results. As for myself... On my way to topical authority for a website, I am struggling with cannibalisation. I haven't yet read all your articles but if you have published on that topic (YT or blog) I would greatly appreciate if you (or someone else) can point me to it. From my experience, the bigger the site gets, the less traffic per page it does get. But I was not focused on the topical authority thing (and cannot say if the overall rankings of the identified clusters performed better). That's why your views on that specific topic would be valuable. Thanks

Hey Brother, The specific website continues to get over 8,000 clicks a day, and I didn't check or touched this website for over a year. The owner of the project started to make a transition to their main brand domain from all subdomains, and other domains. The main domain is "konusarakogren". And, we should ask this question to the owner who made changes between subdomains, and main domains. But, we have seen a similar thing for Vizem.net too, it dropped from 20,000 clicks a day to 8,000, and now it's coming back thanks to the latest core update.
