Good day doc, ask ko lang po about sa Actinic Cheilitis sa lips po, sa palagay ko AC ang condition ko kasi bata pa lang ako sa farm na ko nagtatrabaho laging bilad sa araw, lagi na lang nagtutuklap balat ng labi ko, nilalagyan ko na lang ng petrolium jelly para di lumala, marerecommend nyo ba sakin ang fluolouracil (eufedex) na di naman available sa Philippines, i hope na masagot nyo katanungan ko, sana meron dermatology na may alam na about sa AC dito sa Philippines, panay americans lang kasi napapanood ko sa YT walang filipino na nagpapaliwanag about sa AC

Hello po, doc! I have a question po. I've been doing research about psychology and dermatology and I really can't decide because I wanted to pursue both. I am planning to study BS Psychology, pass the boards, then after that, can I take a residency in Dermatology? or hindi po pasok ang BS Pschology as a pre-med course to pursue dermatology? I hope you can enlighten me po

Hello i just saw your question! I honestly dont know anymore. It has been quite a while since i started as a dermatologist 😁 and the salary will depend on how often the derm will hold clinic, which clinics they go to and what procedures they do. For a dermatologist who will set up their own clinic, the income will be very different from a dermatologist who is earning a “salary” from a company owned clinic like the ones in the malls. Thank u for this question! If i have some time to research on how much the salary is now from newly grad derms i will post a comment here in the future. ☺️

Hello Eggy! A board certified PDS dermatologist has trained for 3 years (or even longer if with sub specialization). After training took and passed the board examination of the Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS). This is a written exam, practical exam with slides for dermpath, and Oral examination for clinical cases. As long as the doctor seeing u is a licensed physician it is allowed. At the end of the day :) Its really the patient's choice where they/u want to go for treatment! Hope I answered ur question. Thanks!

Maam, paano malaman if License ang Dermatologist? Hindi ko kasi makita sa PRC kung saan naka-category. Wala sa Medical Technology o kahit saan..

Hi Carl, 1) IF u want to know if ur dermatologist is a Philippine Dermatological Society or PDS DERMatologist, u can check in pds.org.ph. Bt the website is unfortunately under construction right now. We usually have MD,FPDS or MD,DPDS at the end of the name of the PDS derm ☺️ 2) But for a LICENSED PHYSICIAN- u can check in the prescription of the doctor their name has an MD at the end and in the bottom theres a PRC #. For PRC category i believe its under the “physician” category. ❣️Lahat ng PDS dermatologists ay licensed physicians :) ❗️subalit hindi lahat ng licensed physician ay PDS dermatologist. I hope i answered ur question. ☺️ salamat sa pagpanuod ng video.

Hello! ang ibig sabihin ng MD = Medical Doctor, and for PDS dermatologists may additional na: DPDS = diplomate of Philippine Dermatological Society, or FPDS = Fellow of the Philippine Dermatological Society. Appreciate ur questions.

Hi Doc! I would like to ask po if may bearing po ang hospital na kung saan ka nag PGI if you are planning to apply for dermatology residency? Do you think na mas okay na mag apply ako sa hospital for PGIship na may dermatology rotation since mas okay na may recommendation letter ako from a dermatologist? Thank you!

  • @drtessahlim

Hello i think the benefit of internship in a hospital with derm rotation is the exposure you get. It will determine if you really REALLY want to study this specialization or perhaps consider another one. During internship i chose, anesthesia rotation and was initially considering that but later on realized it was not for me. Internship is the time when you enjoy and prepare yourself before the long haul of residency. Choose a hospital where you will be able to study (for boards) and decide where you want to go moving forward. Best of luck! thank you for watching the video and i hope i answered your question. 💕

Hello there :) yes its true higher ang salary for government compared to private hospital. Bt i personally believe hindi dapat salary ang basis for u to decide on where u will apply. ☺️Because AFTER u finish residency and boards, there will be more than enough opportunities for u to earn. Regarding the range im really not sure anymore. Residents in government hospitals are Medical officer III or MO3, Fellows (Medical Officer IV), then Consultants (Medical Specialist II up). Perhaps u can ask the specific govt hospital ur interested in how much salary of MO3 is :) best of luck to u! And i hope i answered ur question.
