I zeroed my Colt A1 on US Army targets (old mantel clock) design. The sights have held 0 for several years. I am astounded as to how many guys don;t Zero their AR15's. I can shoot offhand at 200 yards and hit the steel man size target all day long. I'm 64 with old man vision. Thank you for making a great video on this subject. Its much appreciated !!!

Outstanding!! This brought back fun and happy memories from my military days getting to zero our weapons. You did this textbook perfect, what a great group! I can hardly type my trigger fingers are itching to go shoot. Thanks for the blast from the past brother!

watched your videos on this iron sight a few times over took your advice purched the UTG iron sights can't be more happy with them. I definitely agree that a person must zero their irons it's one of the most important things to do on your weapon and learning how to use them is a must.

I'm not sure why some people have such a hard time zeroing iron sights. like you, I've always been able to do it in 20 rounds or less. I love my scopes and my aim point red dots, but there's something special about good old fashioned iron sights.

Sweet weapon and very nice grouping for a blind man...lol. My eyes are going bad on me too and I haven't gotten any glasses yet. I use irons and or a red dot, but now that the old peepers are fuzzing out on me I am moving to a magnified optic. I am getting a 1x6 strike eagle for Christmas. May end up adding glasses too eventually...lol

I feel you on the being blind issue. I can hit at 100 with a red dot, but I'm all over the target. No true consistency at all. I think my targets are 19" tall and i hit every bit of those 19 inches.

Would it be a good idea to zero my Primary Arms 1-6 ACSS Gen 3 scope to 100 yards and use the scales to shoot at different yardage? Then zero my BUIS to 50 yards?

I do a 50/200 yard at 10 yards. Exact 1.9 below . Frank Proctor or JTT has the print out online. Been using this method for at least 5 years now. Super simple and easy. When I'm using a Trijicon TR24 1-4× I do a 36 yard zero. At 36 yard zero from point blank range out to 300 yards there is a 5" difference. So basically point shooting with no real guess work or hold overs

@@2wheeleddemon999 Do a Google search for Jerk The Trigger 50 yard zero shot atv10 yards . I Do this zero for all my optics that require 200 yard zero . The 36 yard zero is what I use for all non BDC optics. Shawn Ryan from Vigilance elite was print out as well for 36 yard zero to be shot at 25 yards. The 36 yard zero is 5.5" difference from point blank out to 300 yards . So roughly the size if CD/DVD.

So if you zero using that target at 50 yds, does that mean the target's silhouette simulates a 500 yd target? Or does it scale differently?

After zeroing in iron sights at 50. Where would you zero the scope you were talking about putting on. I just zeroed my rifle at 50 and about to put scope on. But a lot of scopes come with yardage marks and they start at 100 yard zero was wondering if the scope zero and iron sights should both be zeroed st same distance

My Primary arms 1-6 ACSS recommended a 100yd zero. I started at 50, got that dead on, then moved out to 100; the difference was very minor (it will be on 223/5,56).

Is it common for your windage adjustments or rear sight to be off center? There are vertical marks on magpul mbus rear I would think that would always wanna be dead center? Any information would be great.

Those markings aren't as helpful as you might think. Tiny little errors in alignment can make a big difference at 50yds. To answer your question a few clicks windage is not unusual at all. I think mine needed about six clicks from the factory.

Same here. I typically pull to the right a little with pretty much every gun I've shot lately. My rear sight is about 2.5 lines to the left to compensate. I use Magpul MBUS flip up sights. I'm shopping for a scope, but these have been very good for me out to 150 yards so far. I want to try 200 again now that I've had some more practice, then I'll move on to a scope.
