BabyCenter It went really well! I followed your method as best as I could. After having a baby now I’ve learned that newborns aren’t as delicate as I always thought. I never picked up one out of fear I’d hurt it, after my daughter was born that fear got over quick! Thank you for making this video, it was really helpful!

This baby is 14 years now!

Huge tip that really helped my baby have a pleasant bathing experience with no crying since day 1!! Once you put you baby in the bath, immediately place a handtowel soaked in the warm bath water over the baby so that she remains warm and comfy. My baby's face scrunched up and was ready to let out a big cry the second she was placed in the bath but as soon as the warm handtowel went over her chest she calmed down and I've been doing it ever since :) Hope it helps!!

I used to work in a maternity Ward and when we bathed the newborns, they would always cry, that baby is one of a kind to be so relaxed the first time she gets a tub bath!

I believe there is not wrong or right way to bathe your baby, I have 4 children and I'm expecting, each of my children wanted to bathe in different ways that made them comfortable and enjoyable, it really is up to how your baby enjoys the bath.

Thank you for sharing this. However, i observed that The cloth that was used in scrubbing the baby looks a little rough to me. A softer one is highly recommended for newborn babies since they have a very sensitive skin. Also, i agree to one of the comments here that i learned to put cold water first before the hot water to balance the temperature better at the desired level of water in the bath tub. If you put hot water first before the cold water, chances are,you tend to put more cold water just so you can balance the water till you'll notice that the water is already above the desired and safe level in Your baby's tub.

Emily I understand! I do the same.. Its always good to be informed about these thing! It helped me a whole lot! I watched them to get informed so i could be prepared for the future. Shortly after my family moved to Ecuador and opened an orphanage! :) I got the HUGE honor of taking care of two babies! :) one premature and the other 15 months! :) So dont worry about what people say! Just be willing to help when you see or know a new mother! You could be a lot of help! God bless!

I don't know if I was told wrong, but I was always told to "co-bathe" with my baby. I would bath first, than afterwards, dry off, fill up with lukewarm water, I would have everything ready to go, and than place the baby lying on my crisscross lap , where than using my other arm as support, I would do a similar process: using 6 baby-cloths, wash each limb, face, and hair(I was told to not "scrub" the hair, but to use the cloth to be stimulate off cradle cap) with a single cloth. And I have bathed all of my three babies this way, now I am due with my fourth and I never had to purchase a baby bath and find it weird that this is the supposed method to bath a baby.

I always kept my babies at 94 degrees!

A baby's skin is too sensitive to wash them in a bath every single day. I think they mean 1-2 times a week for a full bath. You can take a warm, damp washcloth and wipe them down everyday, but you shouldn't give them a complete bath.

Don’t agree…..they get filthy from poop pee an milk….I wash my newborn every night….from head to toe with baby soap

How is your baby ! 9 years later

Right now, after seeing this, my uterus is screaming "I WANT A BABY!!", but I'll try to keep my cool until I finish my studies... Blarh, it's so boring to wait! But then again, when I first have a baby, I would love for it to have the best life possible.

Had to watch this again since Amina’s umbilical stump fell off. She’ll get her first bath tomorrow at 2 weeks and 5 days 💕 she didn’t like her sponge baths 😂 which I understand

Any parent knows you never add hot water to a bath first - even if you are right there - accidents and tipping happen - always cold first for safety reasons , then add the hot . If you start with that rule it prevents burning accidents in future with baths left running unattended . Plus Q- tips don't need to be anywhere near a baby's ear .
