How to Batch Resize Images in Photoshop
Here is a quick way to batch resize images in Photoshop in just a couple of clicks.
Start by making two folders on your computer. Name one original and the other one resized.
Put all the original images in the first folder.
Now, open one of the images in photoshop, go to the window and choose actions.
Create a folder and call it resizing.
Now you can record your action and then easily replicate it.
Go to image, image size, and type in the size.
File and save as and save the resized image into the resize folder.
Close the project. And then stop the action recording.
Go to file, automate and batch. Choose the set and the resizing action.
Choose the image folder and the destination folder.

Thank you!! I've been trying to figure this out for a long time!
THANK YOU! Concise and effective. Bellissimo! 🎉
Very nice and clear tutorial. Thank you
What a great, instructive tutorial with fine vocal recording and imaging without distracting instrumental background. Kudos to you and thank you for making this day so much better!
Thanks so much for this. Great to the point tutorial!
Great tutorial! Exactly what I was looking for to fix an error at work. Thanks!!!
great explaining power, thank you so much
Excellent Tutorial, thank you very much!
Thanks so much for great tutorial!
Thank you for posting this video.
Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you so much for this tutorial that I need to do quite often. There are other KZread tutorials on this that leave out crucial steps, that you don't leave out. For example, when you close the file, I never knew you could click the Photoshop icon to return to your workspace. I usually got stuck when the workspace disappeared, and didn't stop the action.
This is awesome man! Thanks
thank you for this tutorial :)

Thanks So much
helpful
I have photoshop element but your instruction help me fique it in elements use much of the same steps Thanks😊
Usually I have to rewind the tutorials, but not this one. Slow (in a good sense) but thorough.
This is great. I now have a question, I have several different folders, when I go on a different folder and try to do it again looks like the pictures are resizing but then nothing is on the resized folder. So do I have to make a new action for every folder? Thank you
good video!! finding after spending hours resizing !!! just wondering though- my images for a certain website can't be bigger than 1000x1000 or under 1MB. I have horizontal and vertical files. can you specify longest side =1000? or maybe I just need to do separate batches of horizontal and vertical images????
Can you use this method to batch change the dpi of multiple images that are in different sizes? And do so without changing the sizes, just the dpi? Thank you!
Is it possible to resize, then leave them to REPLACE pics in various nested folders? For instance, I have a Calibre library, and I want to batch resize all the pictures, all named cover.jpg, all in a folder full of folders for each book, then replace the exiting pic with the resized one.
Do you have or can you make a video about how to export quickly different sizes pressing one button? I am photographer beginner and I need to export the same image for different social media, and ... Can I do this tutorial but with PSD files? I have to edit a lot of photos but I don't share them at the moment.so I would like to export all the Projects at the same time or open one buy one and export all the different sizes manually but very fast 🙄.
yes i do want to write over my originals.
thanks but i tried every time its pop up window for jpg quality. No seamless please help
but this will wreck the jpeg's, it's not doing anything to retain the quality, an A1 resized to 8x10 inch will be wrecked.
If you use windows don’t watch
