How to Avoid Blisters When Hiking

This video shows you one boot lacing technique that may prevent you from getting blisters ever again. It's easy and you can do it right now!
Assuming you have a correctly fitting boot, I believe it is the environment within the shoe that determines whether you get blisters or not - in other words it comes down to how you tie the laces and what kind of socks you are wearing - I recommend a wool synthetic blend of very high quality.

Good tip. If you make another "surgeon's knot" with the final bow loops you end up with a turquiose turtle knot or shoeman's knot. It is more secure, rarely comes loose and yet is easy to untie just like a regular double slipknot.

Thanks for the tips! I can't believe you finished off with tying a granny knot instead of a much stronger loop knot... 😧

I worked standing on hard (concrete) surfaces for years and found that just wearing better shoes really helped. Including better tying techniques could help too. Thanks!

Walk on that concrete barefoot and most of your feet will be blister-proof.

You finished it with granny knot at the end. You can tell that by the two rings that tend to line up vertically instead of horizontally. That'll come off anytime. Correct way is left over right then right over left, or the other way around.

The best thing to wear 2 layers of wool socks one thin and the other thick and that’s will do the trick,
