After like half an hour we saw that person again and he screamed ran away while we also screamed and ran away. This isn't a joke: it's a true story that happened to me: I was walking home from school and I saw this guy on the other side of the road, he looked way older than me, so I knew he wasn't in secondary. He looked like he was around 36 maybe older. I started walking a bit faster, and then he crossed the road, to be on the same side as the pavement as me. Then he started running after me. I was like 8 at the time so the only thing I could think about was running too. The worst part is that I was in an area where there were barely any people. I tried to do the classic thing which was turning right every time I came to a turn. I got to an area near a bus stop and I went to a lady who had a child that was around 6 so I assumed she was a mother. I told her what happened and she started calling the police but she told me to go home and tell my parents. It's now the reason why I never walk alone anymore. I saw the police arrive a little later and I saw the guy run away, he had literally no chance of not getting caught because police were on both sides of the road.

I once saw a story about a man followed a woman so the woman walked into police station but still the man walked in like he’s not suspicious at all. The woman told the police that the man followed her. Then the man walked beside her and said she is my girlfriend, she just mad at me and want me to stay away, the man started to drag her out but she insisted she is being stalked and refused to leave the police station. The writer end the story. I wonder the police believe whom. I think police will believe the girl. Better safe than sorry.

I was followed one day by a man, I was just a 6th grader coming home from school, I was alone, my friends had other work to do, and I was hearing loud noises like "Come child" and other noises. I got the courage to look back, and he was wearing everything in black, except.. he had a bandana to cover his face. I started running to my market, since it was the only thing I knew at the time, and I told the cashiers to call the police. I saw him standing in front of the market, but he was too afraid to enter. OK, sorry but as a person without a car, don't call family or friends to meet you. Why put them into any danger? Just call 911. Years ago while in a store, someone was becoming violent and directing it at me. I had my young child with me so instead of going thru the store trying to lose them, I stopped where all the registers were, screamed as loud as I could, and pointed the assailant out to the now quiet store. Security came and took the person away. If you think you're too shy to do this, remember the one trying to do you harm won't be shy when they are hurting you and your loved ones.

Read what I said. If you can't do that, then don't speak. It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

If you aren't sure someone is following you, walking or by car, take four right or left turns if safe to do so. Be careful not to accidentally put yourself in a dead end. Essentially you'll be walking/driving in a big square. If they're still there, chances are you're being followed. Next thing you should do is go to a public place, a gas station for example, and ask an attendant or employee for help. This has saved some of my friends and family members from potential harm.

I have a tip my mum said to me and I want to share it: If you're being followed or you think you are, it doesn't matter, say 'hi auntie!' or 'hi grandpa!' or 'hi bro' to any stranger you see. It's better if the stranger is an adult. Then run to them and tell them about the situation. They will let you be with them. Because if the stranger following you will think that it's your grandma or whatever, he won't try anything. But trust me, if you are or look like you are ten or less years old and someone will be dragging you to some house or something, nobody will find it suspicious. Yeah, it is like that. Because they'll think that it's your parent dragging you home. And even if you'll be screaming for help. Well I hope this will help but I hope it won't be necessary for anyone to use the tip!

Yall if you have nothing at all here’s some tips: Kidnapped: try to get your kidnapper to trust you, be friendly with them and follow their instructions. If they’re violent try and escape in the ways you can. If they trust you they might let you walk around. Whilst they aren’t there dial a family member or your country’s emergency number. Stalker: Follow the instructions on the video cause that’s pretty much right. Attacker: don’t be afraid to fight back, use keys as weapons and another good thing is to punch them in the jaw as that can make them pass out. If that don’t work you can just poke in eyes, kick in the shin, if it’s legal to carry weapons and you have a weapon, USE IT!! Just a few facts lolol

i got followed once while walking back home from school. i looked back a couple of times and even crossed the street twice without even needing to. so he kinda knew that i was aware of him following me. weirdly around the church in our town was crowded. i stopped there and watched him walk right pass me while looking at him in the eyes. dude speed walked so fast i didn't have time to blink

Start a live stream or act like it.... Like talk to your phone and move it around getting different angles so that they get scared about getting caught on camera following you. See if they get in or out of a car that appears to be theirs or maybe stolen and copy the license plate number down. Maybe call an Über or try to catch a bus and get away from the person. Also try to get pictures of them incase something happens. Or act like your on the phone with somebody. Another one is try and start walking faster until your jogging. Always carry some sort of sharp object like keys or a pocket knife. Another thing that is a loud sound that could scare them is have a box of pop-its in your purse and grab about five and chuck them at the ground and it should scare them away, or atleast startle them. A little boy came running to me i said whats wrong where are your parents? He said i dont know but a strange man was following me i said where? He pointed at this hella tall dude wearing a blue hoodie covering his face and blue jeans and red sneakers and he was fast walking i was worried so i told the boy to say MOM MOM A STRANGER IS FOLLOWING ME out loud and he did it then the stalker turned around and fast walked back. So i took this boy to the police and told them everything and they said some parents came crying for their lost child so i was surprised so the police called the parents and it was the little boy’s parents!( i got the stalker’s info to the police and they found him walking at the area i met the boy he was actually a kidnapper that has never been caught). So i got rewarded 10,000$ dollars.

It's also best to yell *FIRE* because that's the best way to get help from what I learned in karate.

if someone is near by, most likely if u scream, they will not help, 80% of people will not help you.. instead of screaming for help.. say "you" and point at the person. The person will feel responsibility to help, also scream FIRE if ur somewhere in a neighboor hood, mall, parking lot, etc. the person will be alerted that something is happening and when they come they will se you and so step one, point and say "you", if your lucky.. the stalker/predator will notice that someone saw them and will run away. run to ur nearest police and tell them what happened.

If you are on your phone and you see someone following you, pretend to take a selfie, but aim the camera slightly behind your shoulder so you can see your stalker. You can also use keys and put them in between your fingers like wolverine claws. Remember, the second amendment is the right to keep and bear arms. Don't be afraid to carry around things like a taser. Just don't accidentally sit on it in your car... ;-;

Thank you. I think your tips are really helpful. I don't think a usual stalker would stop at nothing to attack you, no matter what you do.

I always have my keys (with pepper spray attached) ready and out when I exit a store or building. When walking to my car I look around my car to see if any van or big suv is next to me...people get stolen by people with those sliding door vans. I also look for people say in their car like waiting for someone....never look at your phone when walking either that makes you a target because you are not paying attention to your surroundings. Lock the doors when you get in your car immediately and if you are out at night park in a well lit area not in the darkness behind a building. Always have the mindset that you are being watched...and don’t dilly dally outside your car or shopping center go straight to the car and lock it.

If you feel a car is following you immediately sprint in the opposite direction the car will have to stop and turn around and you can get away

That’s very unlikely, then it’ll be very obvious that the person is following you. They’ll get unwanted attention which they try to avoid at all costs. Unless they’re very idiotic criminals.

I was in Washington DC with my mom last year. The tour guide dropped us off the bus at our hotel around midnight. The tour guide legit flipped his hoodie and started walking behind us into the hotel lobby. We both immediately knew what was going on and decided to take action. We pretended that we lost our keycard and we couldn’t get it. The security guard slowly walked in and he got scared and left. One of the most scary moments of my life! Good thing I’m an actor omg

That was an example for an excuse to stop. Remember, before anything, you are trying to make sure the person is actually following you or not. In a public place with many people around, if you stop, the stalker wont grab you because there will be a lot of people already, but if the stalker stops when you do, it means you're being followed. You can also stop for taking random selfies or simply just "angling your phone to get better network" in order to confirm the visual appearance of the stalker, by selfies you have photographic evidences too. Another excuse will be to just "wonder about directions", look around as if you don't remember the direction and are looking for it then you suddenly recall the right one. To the stalker, this would justify your zig-zag route and give you more time. Additionally, you can approach anyone else on the street, appearing to discuss directions by pointing directions while secretly telling them that you are being followed. By being aware but acting unaware he means that you should be aware of the stalker but you should'nt let that person know you are, especially in less crowded places, by this you reduce the chances that he might come running at you for a last chance. You appearing unaware, the stalker would feel that there's no need to hurry into action and you infact would get more time to craft an exit plan. One more thing. Do not call anyone while the stalker can see you. This will alert the person making him attack sooner as the help will take atleast some little time to come. Remember, the stalker is the most desperate person in the world, don't give any excuse to hasten things up. Simply ask your contact to call you via SMS or just add an alarm for 2-3 minutes later to appear as an incoming call and you can call your contacts. Talk casually, laughing and smiling while telling the situation. The stalker mostly will be in line of sight but not in range to hear you speak in low volumes.

Once a stalker started following me and my phone's battery was dead. When I realized that someone is following me, I went to a crowded area and intentionally started walking towards a wrong way. He started walking behind me on that way too so I turned and went back to the same crowded area again. When he again followed me, I turned back and stared at him, just to make him realize that I am aware of it. With an angry look, I took out my dead phone from my pocket and pretended that I am dialling a number. While staring at him, I pretended that I am complaining someone about this. Within the next 10 seconds, that person ran away! 😀

Random advice : You could pretend to take a selfie and make sure that the stalker's a part of the picture or at least in the corner of the picture. You could stand beside a black car and if the stalker's behind you, pretend take a photo of the car. Their reflection could be on the car somehow. It's easier for the police to believe you.

Or just take the pic of them flat out and tell them you sent it already when they get angry and attempt to steal the phone, which they will. If they think they are already identified it may deter them from attempting to harm you. They have an extreme disliking to being photographed in the act of perpetrating even minor crimes. Your picture idea is a good one. Use it as leverage but expect an extreme reaction.

Great Suggestions! I have many experiences of people following me on the streets. Using intimidating behaviour.

Was on my way home once, where there was a group of guys who seemed to be looking at me. They didn't seem like criminals, but they didn't seem like good people either. Regardless, I walked passed them with music in my ears and once I walked passed them, I slowly saw them following me. Then I immediately walked faster, and saw them walk faster. Once I reached the pizza place close to my house, I started running to my door quickly opening it. Phew, this is probably the most problematic stalker situation I've ever had.

It is very possible that a stalker's purpose for following you is to locate your house, so they can then not lose track of you.. The many possibilities unfold. Please be careful, but careful also means smart, in this case.

Once i was at home a burgler came to my house and tried to hurt me but one thing that he didn’t expect is that i have a pitbull. My dog was at my room and when i noticed someone was in the house i ren to my room as the burglar chasing me than i opened the door and my dog ripped his arm.

This one I learned in a safety class in college. But if there is a car near by grab the antenna. They can snap off relatively easy usually and use it as a whip of sorts. It will hurt greatly and help keep the attacker at a distance.

Tip: Start kicking or doing random fighting poses even if the attacker is not attacking you. This will give the illusion(or show) that you make weapons out of your body and you are not afraid to use them. This might discourage the attacker. ~Hope this helps!~

If walking home and you're followed NEVER yell help ALWAYS yell fire!! Sometimes people don't want to get involved when someone is being attacked but if you yell fire everyone is coming out to see what's burning..

Put ur phone in ur back pocket so the cameras facing them and record them. Cross the road loads and if they follow u they are stalking u. U will have proof as well cos ur vidioing them

Tip: This isn’t a commonly known fact; the soft area under your chin that’s surrounded by your jaw is one of the best places to strike someone with keys or even a blunt stick or fist . The area is very vulnerable and is easy to cut and will stop your attacker from breathing for a bit or if done hard enough can be fatal.

I was being followed. (I turned right 4 times and he was still there) then i happend to have a knife. I walked in an empty street. I pulled out a knife and i was checking knife out. (i am sure he saw a knife) and turned around and gave him a deadly look. He stopped,turned around and walked away.

It was scary, but he couldnt do anything in public, so i took advantage of that, then when i found out i have a knife, i got in the empty street and scared him. The key is not to panic

If anyone comes with a car and you are a child and they tell you come with me because your mother is in the hospital or for whatever reason. Then just say "no" and go away. I they are still following you then scream and when somebody comes to help you the stranger will go away. Make sure to remember how you're person looked and then go to you're parents and they can call the police.

Our family had like a password thingy... Once a “police officer” came to our high school to pick us up saying that our parents were in a car crash and he got told to pick us up. So, the I said what’s the password and he was like what and then another “police officer” came and he had a gun, dagger and a thingymajig. So I just brought my siblings to my teacher and she took us to the hospital, we asked if our parents were there, she called 999 and took us home.
