this is one of the first videos I watched that helped me calibrate an epoch 650 That was my very first time using a flaw detector
Always check the green "check" button to scroll and select value. Saves time. I felt bad for you how you go the hard way for scrolling. When setting Vel, frequency, even moving gate with Olympus... check the green button, it navigates smoother.
We use a rod that is the same material as all of the rods we test. I used a caliper to precisely measure the rod and then set the velocity till the gate reads exactly what the rod measurement is. Done and Done.

Try changing the setting on the filers or the damp selection.
