A how to guide for UPGRADING your steering wheel to the later model sporty Audi R8 or TTRS model for your Audi models including A3, A4, A5, A6, S3, S4, S5, S6 etc

This will fit most older Audi models which run Audi MMI first gen to 3G+ touch systems, and the decoder will enable the newer style steering wheels which run on MIB software to communicate with the legacy car models.
For Example Audi A4/A5 B8, Audi A6/7 C7, Audi A3 8P, Audi A1 8X, Audi Q5 8R, Audi Q3 8U are able to use the steering wheel and the decoder will enable the multi-function button usage.
Please note that the multi-function buttons may differ from model to model, and not all buttons as shown will be usable, only those buttons that are already present on your current steering wheel. Some cars such as the A6/A7 C7's may have added features activated, such as skip track functions and menu selection.

Good video! Doesn't it work if I install the original steering wheel after wiring? I'm going to install the original steering wheel in winter because of the heating wire.

You might find the wiring needs to be swapped back too, a lot of work just for winter time.

How did you get rid of airbag light going from a 2 igniter to only 1, I've fitted similar steering wheel but now it's saying ignitor resistance too low?

Ideally, you should use a dual stage airbag. The hack solution is to jumper the second stage connector with a resistor - google suggests something around 4.8 ohm 5 watt but may depend on your model of car.
I have a 2016 Audi A5 Quattro, can I change the steering wheel to the R8? Also, can I upgrade the stick shift to make it look like the 2017 and above?

Thanks for your comment. I am not 100% sure, but I assume the answer is yes for the steering wheel, you would be best to contact Ambrace, they are the folks I got my stuff from and will be able to confirm compatibility.

Nice steering wheel but way too much time and effort investment for the upgrade. I personally wouldn’t make the effort. Definitely nice wheel though
