Музыка

The Backun Educator Series presents Michelle Anderson, founder of Clarinet Mentors (www.clarinetmentors.com), in a series of videos designed specifically to help school band teachers to teach clarinet more easily and effectively. Teach your clarinet students to assemble the clarinet in the best way possible to avoid damaging the instrument. This video shows you step-by-step instructions on assembling each piece of the instrument, as well as how to place the reed on the mouthpiece. This is great for those of you that teach beginning students, but may also be a great review for more experienced students as well.

I remember my first day of having a clarinet and the things I learned, like it was yesterday, not 50 years ago. Let them enjoy this moment of first having a new instrument. It will never happen again.

Fuck that stupid instrument. I’m only being forced to play it for instruments class in high school and it’s so hard

The lack of specificity on this issue throughout the clarinet world is kind of strange to me. Finally today I find that Ridenour is the one person to make specific recommendations for where to put your fingers.

We talked about how we put our clarinet together in clarinet choir and top down is by far the weirdest we found!

I noticed in your other videos the screws of ligature facing up. I gues it doesn't matter which way they are facing as long as they are securing the reed?

I realized recently that I was grabbing the keys on the upper joint and it's a little loose in that the top two keys kind of wobble if I push it... I'm hoping it won't be a big deal? Freaking out a little

What about the oil application on the reed, and putting in a new, oiled reed before playing again? That's what I learned, didn’t do it and reed cracked while playing! Very, very essential to oil the reed before assembling, replace after every lesson with a new, oiled reed.

We do not suggest putting oil on the reed, thank you for watching.

0:05 - Not for nigh on 13 minutes, you ain't! But, I would like to know why my reed makes the most horrible squeals, and never seems to be happy. Moreover, I might acquire a note but, as I go 'lower' - she squeals! This behaviour doesn't seem to go away with, nearly, daily practice (of a half-hour or so).
