How do you detach the top half of the backrest from the bottom when you no longer need it or you need to store the seat in the boot? Ours get stuck at the max height, not sure if you can actually take it out completely...any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I had to assemble the one I got as shown in the video. If I remember correctly, the backrest does move if it's not against anything. Hope this helps.

Can you detach the back rest when you only want to use the booster cushion part as they are older now and don’t require the back rest?

I'm not sure if you can unfortunately, but I didn't have to do this for mine as the backrest height is adjustable.
