I've had a reds 34mm clutch backordered for almost a month now, guess I'll end up going with this design.

You're right, the Tetra 2.1 is not looking good. Our order for those clutches was sent near the end of last year. Not sure what their hold up is. Sorry about that A K. A cool aspect to the Tetra is it can be installed or removed assembled; the ProTek clutch must be assembled after the clutch nut is installed. It's a love/hate thing for some people. -Brett

I love aluminum shoe clutches. I have 1 on my drag 4 tech. I also modded the crank am sleeve my self an the motor is nasty responsive. Gonna eat up some electric drag cars this weekend.

That was a great video that was a great tip and keep up the good work Brett you are doing a wonderful job and I would like to know before I invest in a new clutch you did you have any issues with that system any problems if they are very good I will invest in buying some of those They all look pretty good and keep up the good awesome work you guys are doing

No issues to report. The ProTek R/C Race Team has been using this clutch for many months testing and tuning, and so far they like it. Most team drivers are using a combo of two Composite and two Aluminum shoes. -Brett

Is there a 20 tooth or 21 tooth that will work? I have the .21 Jammin JPX and I am putting it in my Tmaxx. I like the 4 shoe with the screws looks so much easier than the 3 shoe.

Take the carb return spring off, if not absolutely needed. It WILL wear a hole in the carb slide bellows. Ask me how I know. Nice idea by Novarossi with that spring,, but poorly executed. Nice 4 shoe clutch,,might have to add that one to the list. You guys are gonna make all the clutch tools that I bought from AMain obsolete with those ideas.

Will this fit a VX18 engine? Its on the onroad Hsp nitro car (flying fish)

Can you also do a series on the Losi Eight RTR? I am kind of undecided which one to get. Losi or Kyosho.

5 Amps is a 1C charge rate for that battery. Charge at 5 Amps. -Brett

My centre diff is running against the clutch bell it’s not doing much harm but just makes an annoying sound how would I fix this?

Sounds like clutch bell is sticking out too far maybe? Can you try reshimming that puppy. The clutchbell only needs to be a few mm's away from the flywheel; there shouldn't be a big gap. What brand car, clutch, clutchbell and engine are you using? -Brett

Does this work for a MP9 TKI4? Its not listed in the compatibility.

Please use a proper flywheel wrench instead of pliers or channel grips if you don’t want scratched parts

so.. 2 shoe, 3 shoe, 4 shoe clutch. say i want to go aluminium as the shoe material everytime. is there any difference/benefit of having more or less shoes?

The more shoes you add, the more surface area to grab the clutchbell. Some say 4 shoe clutches are more adjustable because you have more shoes to adjust, like maybe 2 carbon and 2 aluminum shoes. Clutch setup is very much personal preference. But as a general rule, you don't want your clutch to engage too hard if the track is loose, because you will have excessive tires spin (which means excess tire wear and fuel consumption). Loose track, soft clutch. High traction track, harder clutch. -Brett

Shoot, that's a great question. What Traxxas vehicle do you have in mind? There is a chance it could fit some of the larger Traxxas 1/8 scale vehicles/Monster Trucks. It will not fit a 1/10 scale, I'm pretty sure. -Brett

hello. can explain to me, i wanna know. why nitro engine have 2 shoe clutch, 3 shoe clutch and 4 shoe clutch? what are the benefit of it? the car will be faster if it have more clutches?

Each clutch shoe is material to rub on the clutchbell. 4 Shoes provide a lot of rubbing! 2 shoes provide half the amount of rubbing, because less shoes to rub. Now you can use different shoe materials to adjust the clutch; many people prefer two carbon and two aluminum shoes. For harder clutch engagement try 4 aluminum shoes, for smoother engagement try 4 carbon shoes. For a mix of both, try 2 carbon and 2 aluminum shoes. Good luck! -Brett
