Äh, I saw that in a Chinese Shop. It is Not the original flow hive

The design at 09:30 is a problem. The inside frames need to span across the entire length or the bees will fill in with crazy comb and you will not be able to take the frames out for inspection.

It may not be a branded FLOW HIVE, but for what I paid for my Flow Hive, I sure wish it would have been as easy to put together and didn't crack so much. I'm disgusted with how much I paid for what I looks like crap if you get too close to it and look at it. I just put together every single piece of a second hive set by myself and had not one bit of trouble with the $100 hive set up. Thank you, Temiel!

We have had bee hives on our off-grid homestead for a while now and people who buy our honey always asked about these types of hives. I'm torn since I don't hear good things about their longevity. Some of our hive boxes have been in use for 8 years. I've heard these will only last a season or two because the combs get clogged or break as they are plastic. I'd still try one out if I got one for free but think I'll stick to my wooden boxes.

Alright so do appreciate the post very helpful in putting this thing together. One little hiccup I got a couple of pieces that you didn't show or you might not have had and I don't have the queen separator piece the piece that goes on top of the brood box was wondering if that's a must or not

3 years ago I guess you found out. Yes you need that to keep the queen from laying eggs in the flow frame. With that inplace you only get honey above and baby bees below.

Plastic frames how it works? Where it selling is it available in amazon?

His wire mesh is in the right place. It allows ventilation and stops creatures coming into the hive. You are referring to a queen excluder which is separate thing with bigger spacing

TEMIEL how does the honey from the lower chamber reach the upper chamber? It seems like both levels are separated them how does honey rrach the upper level from where it flows into the bottles?

the workers bees have to bring it up, it works a bit like the traditional system, the only difference is the flow hive system

Where did you get this hive kit. Looks good and the assembly looked great. Thinking of getting one myself and want to know where you got this clone. Looking at the Flow hives but they are priced three times what they should be... just wondered where you got this one? Thanks for your help

Wow, thanks for the quick response. I am familiar with the Flow hive site and their product. I am interested in the hive you show being assembled. It is a great clone of the Flow, and I am looking at buying a clone. The price of the Flow is prohibitive and I saw that the clone you assembled went together very nicely and functioned as it should when you did the harvesting. Just want to know where you got your clone hive. Thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

Great do most of the woodwork yourself. The hammer marks will come out when it gets wet. You should try a bigger hammer to increase the construction speed. Oh and the knots will probably fall out eliminating the need to cut entry holes.

Where's to entrance at the bottom gone for the bee's? The part left open is for inspection purposes of surplus honey after the bottom hive is full for the queen and colony or the will die.

Be carefull this is the cheap copie from china. Look After flow hive australia, that is much better material.

First mistake.....you put the clear acrylic on LAST after you paint the hive so you don't get paint on it. .
