  • @lifeandtimeszod

Bro, You may not see this. I mean you're better than me in making beats and you educate me so lemme help you out a bit. Each single "clap" you have in a single square in double time (from like 110bpm) is just half a bar in regular normal time. Basically, if you have a 8 bar patterns (8 claps) that's just 4 bars in normal time and if you have 4 bar patterns (4 claps), that's just 2 bars in single time. Using this logic for example: the intro to your beat is basically 8 bars (16 claps to your understanding). 1.Traditionally, Rap verses have 16 bars (32 claps) but nowadays, it's mainly just 12 bars ( 24 claps) or even 8 bars (16 claps) 2. Hooks are meant to be 8 bars long in structure so that's like 16 "claps" in all. 3. Intro's vary from 4 bars (8 claps) to 8 bars (16 claps). Both are acceptable. So yeah, that's just the basic theory behind it. I hope it helps.

Lmao, yeah barely to be honest. But Check out these songs: 1. Started from the bottom by Drake (each verse was precisely 8 bars), more recently... 2. Loyalty by Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna (Rihanna's verse was 8 bars) and if you don't wanna count this... 3. THE OG'S OF RAP : Otis by Kanye West and JAY-Z. (They were doing tag team verses of 8 bars)

dom 123 pouya does it a lot. Also suicideboys. They do that because their beats often are in low bpms like 107 (Paris from $$) and it would get way too long with 16 bars. Also you normaly have one rhyme word on every two claps in boom bap beats. In these dark and slow trap beats from $$ you have to put a rhyme word on every clap.
