It smells weird, there's a note there thta some people would even call fecal. It's a difficult smell. I really like it now but it took me a lot of time to get used to it

@marcus12ful I ask because those terms describe a lot of men's fragrances, old and synthetic especially. I know plenty of folks that still go around recommending drakkar noir and polo green both of which are old synthetic and outdated but they don't get any of the hate. In fact every Ralph Lauren scent I've ever smelled have been stupidly synthetic, from polo green to raplhs club, Valentino, paco rabanne, Gucci, mont blanc, YSL all synthetic in some way, it's not like these folks are using real fruit, leather, wood and spices in their fragrances... Joop isn't exactly luxurious(not even close) but it's a good performer and it smells good(unless you drown yourself in it), the top notes are overbearing and I wouldn't recommend it for enclosed spaces but its heart notes and base notes are like B+ Tier. It reminds me of wine and smoky wood, it's outdated in the sense that young guys should avoid it unless their milf hunters but it's a cheap edt that not a lot of guys use today so you'll stand out(good or bad). Idk I like it, always have and always will. If there's one thing I don't like about it, I'd sat that's it's overly sweet smelling. I'm curious about joop le parfum though, that one seems to be more well received.. my bad for babbling on. I like to talk about anything related fragrances and anime(I'm obsessed with both)

Man, you're crazy.. this is my favorite cologne. It's in my top 10 and is my number 1 compliment getter.. young and older women love this smell on me. I believe, sir, you need to actually wear the cologne and see the miracle that is JOOP.🔥🔥🔥

Now it's almost a trend to hate this fragrance but I remember it was a revelation when it first came out. As far as I remember, the original formulation was noticeably better smelling in many ways, but I still don't think this is one of the worst. In fact, I've smelled much worse.

Wearing for 20 years now. I have the original Lancaster formulas by the cases!! I found a seller out west and bought the entire lot. I will continue to wear. ✌️✌️

Joop Homme has been overplayed, but it doesn't smell that bad. If you like Montblanc Individuel, Creed Original Santal then you should know that Joop Homme smells very similar to those two fragrances.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Joop Homme! Appreciate it. I've seen people compare it to montblanc individuel but they are NOT the same. Individuel I enjoy wearing. It's lighter and has a more clean scent with a bit of freshness to it. Joop Homme is far from any of that.

I wasn’t a fan of this fragrance when I was younger, but I love it now.

Joop Homme came out in 1989. Did the Thousands or Millions of people who bought the fragrance over the next, say 5 years from 1989 - 1994 have it wrong in liking the fragrance ? Or did they all just have bad taste ?

Fewer options back then. Niche was practically non-existent. This was also prior to blue fragrances and aquatics. It was probably a banger in its day to most people.

I remember this being my fragrence mid 90's at Uni and cant recall anybody else i know using it. The amount of compliments and questions I used to get from young ladies asking what i was wearing was un rivalled to anything else I have ever used. Not had a bottle for a good 15 years now so may go & bottle and reminisce ☺

This is a great fragrance. Some people don’t understand that some fragrance smell better as the day goes on. Joop is one of these. It’s an inexpensive beast of a fragrance. Long lasting, sweet, great for casual use.

You may hate this, I have always LOVED this! Now I did get sick of it for years bec I wore it so long, I am buying more. I hope I still will enjoy it like I use too. I love the (Cinnamony clovey vanilla sweet smell)😊😝🤓😜

I have fragrances worth h8 dress of pounds, but Joop Homme is still my favourite. So many good times, such a beautiful smell.

When I was a teenager I loved this one and I wore it all the time but now I find it so sweet that it smells like a womens perfume, I also have Joop Homme Wild and It's even more syrupy sweet somehow...just gives me headaches now

wore it once to office 4 sprays, god damn this thing lasts like 13 hours solid

I'm already wear it. Wear at night, but it's just like wearing Ultra Male at hot sunny days. So, at night, I only spray one or two times at body, and take a motor bike. It much better after arrives. Scents is not rally bad at all, only too sweet.

I like both a lot and I use both a lot. Le beau is one of my gotos on warm summer days and I enjoy wearing le beau le parfum on summer evenings. Spray it in the air and walk into it. It’s too strong to spray directly on you but I swear to god women love it if applied very lightly.

I admit I like Joop homme. It's the pornstar in my collection where the main house is Parfums de Marly. It's like movies. I watch great movies with complex inspiring or emotional themes with family and friends. But once in a while I need to watch a Gonzo. That's my Joop Homme.😊

It is an EXTREMELY strong, ultra, ultra sweet, sickly, synthetic fragrance that could not only fill a room but an entire football stadium. It was great back in the 90s, but it is very dated now.
