I qualify for the long term but don't see it and don't remember getting the paper to apply for it. I have been waiting on the phone to talk to someone there for 30 minutes.

The "Apply" button isn't there, what do I do? The list stops at "Download Guides" which isn't even in this video. Where is the application?

The regular filing period is closed. You need to file for a Certificate of Error. You can apply for tax years 2020, 2019, 2018, and 2017 if eligible.

@@HelasHandProductions The regular filing period is every year in the spring. You can file a Certificate of Error now for missing exemptions that basically correct your tax bill. Here is a helpful guide: prodassets.cookcountyassessor.com/s3fs-public/page_comm/Brochures/Brochure_Cert_Error_2021.pdf

i did some additional digging, although they didn't make it easy, and it seems that there is a certain window to apply for the current year, and it's in the first quarter of the year. if you missed it, though, you can apply for a certificate of error for last year and the few years before, provided you lived in the house for all those years.

@@CookCountyAssessorsOffice it only lets us select 2020 as the most recent one, but it doesn't have 2021 in the list despite 2021 being closed; because I also missed 2020 and have filed for that year's certificate of error, will it also apply for the automatic renewal of 2021 despite 2021 being closed? Otherwise, how can I use the DocuSign form if it doesn't list 2021 in the drop-down yet?

@@CookCountyAssessorsOffice So the filing period that begins in February of 2022 is for the 2021 Tax Year? If not, say I purchased a home in September of 2021. When should I apply? Any help would be much appreciated!
