How to animate smoothly in Flipaclip (tutorial for beginners?)
Yeah i've had lack of motivation to animate anything big ;-;
But well, i decided to make this little tutorial. Neither is the animation so big, and had the energy for it ^^
I hope this video helps somehow on how to animate smoothly or just in general making a character move :]
This also shows, how i animate. (I mostly tween ;-;)

Here's another tip I thought might help : For very detailed characters, always use another layer for coloring, it take time but trust me on the process, it's also useful when shading or appliying effects 😃👌I also advise making storyboards so you don't forget what you're working on .

@@Lokifur Another thing, if you're animating a cartoon-like character, ex: Mickey mouse, Spinel, anything like that you would apply the rules of squash & stretch! Oh, btw, if you want to animate but don't want to draw the lasso around the whole character EVERY. SINGLE. FRAME. to fix a certain mistake, you can double tap the lasso tool twice and it automatically selects the whole character!
TIP: When coloring with the bucket, put the white square at 99%

Thanks for the tip! :3 Didn't know about this :0
Heres a detail no one seems to be suggesting; USE KEYFRAMES. Keyframes are crucial in any frame by frame animation. You cant just do one frame and then the next frame aimlessly. After you do that, you have to draw the in-betweens, which will be harder for a higher fps animation. And as for the ball, many professionals use a time chart. Thats how they organize the slow-ins and slow-outs of the animation between keyframes.
@Lokifur

Finally, a recent tutorial! also i have a question, if the head goes up, does the body move down or also move along with the head?
@Lokifur
2 ай бұрын
Well, it can pretty much depend! The body can stretch within, or in the video the fur goes a bit up from the neck :] I think it would look better if the body does move up. If the character looks up, the neck can also go down. Also if it has fur it can go down. (Sorry if the explaining is a bit unclear) but i hope this helped somehow ^^ You can ask more questions if this was a bit unclear ;^;

Hi how are you buddy? :D I'm not foreign unfortunately so I'm using the translator but I have a question, how do you do that tweening in your animation called "anger" your tutorial video motivated me a lot and I would like to know more! Thank you very much for the tutorial and I hope you get more recognition someday! ^^
@Lokifur
28 күн бұрын
Oh hii! I am glad this helped ^^ But about the tweening, it can be a bit hard to explain, and i might make a tutorial about it ^^ But! I put different body parts like head, ears and torso to different layers. The ears layer goes under the head layer, so the ears are under the head and not on top. But when i tween, i move the parts in a rhythm or speed depending on the music on the background. If the music has a fast rhythm, the parts also move faster in a rhythm :3 As you can see in the video, i use a technique: first small movement, then big movement and lastly again small movement! I use it in tweening, since it also gives a smooth result for the tweening :] You can watch the "Anger" video in 0.25x to see, how the bodyparts move, so you can see the seperate frames ^^ If you still have questions, feel free to ask! :3 I might make a seperate tutorial about tweening too! Hope this helped :)
